Finger Foods

I am going to a girls movie night on Friday night. We all have to bring finger foods. Does anyone have any go to suggestions for finger foods? I usually either bring a vegi platter or I pick up something fron trader joes to heat up and serve. I would like to bring something very tasty this time. Any suggestions?

If you like bacon but not water chestnuts, bacon-wrapped dates are amazeballs. They're really easy to make if you buy pitted dates. Just wrap the dates with small pieces of bacon and roast in the oven for about 20 minutes at 350.

Or make cheese straws!

Ew I was supposed to sample bacon wrapped scallops at my food tasting by they messed up and gave me bacon wrapped water chestnuts. Gag.

I like mini spinach dip bread bowls... make or buy spinach artichoke dip, place a dollop in the middle of a flattened dough ball (homemade or frozen dinner roll dough), put in muffin tin and bake.

Pinwheels are amazing and easy. My favorite pinwheel recipe:

Flour tortillas

Cream cheese

Goat cheese

Craisins 

Green onions (sliced)

Mix together the cream cheese & goat cheese in a bowl, smear onto tortillas, top with craisins and green onion, and roll up. Wrap in seran wrap and let sit in the fridge overnight, then slice the next day and serve.

I make bacon-wrapped dates for appetizers more often than I should. Even people who think they hate dates love them. Unfortunately, they're horribly addictive.

I also make skewers of chicken (or beef, pork, etc.) satay and serve it with a warm peanut sauce. I cheat and buy the satay packets at the Asian grocery store but the peanut sauce is super-easy. I usually start with this recipe then start making adjustments. It looks a bit different but people always love it.

Thank you for all the suggestions (especially bacon...mmm...bacon....).

I forgot to mention that I will be making these the night before (Thur night) so it should be something that can last in the fridge overnight.  I am making a mental note about the pinwheels, spinach artichoke dip and sauage balls. I often have to bring a food item to the bible study I attend.

Bacon wrapped dates can totally last. Since they're a little time consuming (as in, it takes like 20 minutes versus 10 minutes) I often make and wrap them the night before and bake them the day of.

I stuff my dates with goat cheese and an almond too.

I do a lot of mini meatballs with different dipping sauces. I keep them in the crockpot so they're easy to reheat.

Oooh yeah those sausage balls are really good! That's not what I do for the dip though, I like them with Comeback Sauce. 

Spinach balls are also super yum! Again, with the same sauce. Oooohhhh and crumble up some cooked bacon in them. They can be made the night before and reheated.
