two questions. One WR the other NWR

Question 1.) Can you ladies reccomend any good anti-aging moisturizers that also have SPF? I was previously using Aveeno but after doing some research I found out they still test on animals. So I would like to find a new product.

Question 2.) Has anyone ever ordered a dress from David's Bridal and actually had it take 3 months to come in? I'm MOH in my sisters wedding on 8/31/2014. I haven't ordered my dress yet bc H and I have had some pretty large unforseen bills the last few months (car repairs and we just found out our Pug needs major, lifesaving surgery). And that is on top of already trying to get ourselves out of debt. But DB called me sister the other day and told her I needed to order my dress ASAP to make sure it comes on time. So now you can imagine she is freaking out. She didn't come out and tell me that she is freaking out, but I know my sister. It's stressing her out

My plan is to order it my the end of this month if I can scrape the $$ together. (crossing my fingers nothing else comes up) Anytime I've ordered a BM dress from DB (which has been numerous times) the dress has always been in within two weeks. Heck, my sisters wedding dress only took a week from them.

Thanks!

  • I use Neutrogena --specifically THIS product, although I've used other things from their line. I like their products a lot, and I have fairly sensitive skin, so the -free stuff (no dyes or perfumes or whatever) are nice.

I've had to order dresses from DB for BM dresses three times, and all three times, they came in within 2-3 weeks. I've never had it take three months or heard of anyone having it take three months.

  • My BMs ordered their dresses from DB. One took less than a week to come in, the other took 2 months.

The answer to question one is Paula's Choice. I have a few people who swear by it.

Last year I was a BM in a wedding and I ordered my dress in August for an early October wedding and it came in plenty of time before the wedding (I didn't need alterations).

I should also note that I do not need alterations. The sample dress fit perfectly.
  • First off, I am sorry you are dealing with a stressful financial situation. Hope your pug is okay! Those unforseen expenses can sneak up on the best of us at the worst times. I think it is sweet that you are obviously concerned about easing stress for your sister as well, despite everything you are dealing with.

I doubt it would take the full three months but I guess you never know. If it were me, I would just go ahead and order it just to be completely safe, but that is easier said then done if you are strapped for cash. I can't remember if you have to pay the full amount right then for BM dresses at DB or if you can do payments but if that is an option that might help.

  • I've ordered both a BM dress and a wedding dress from David's Bridal and neither took even close to 3 months to come in. I think it was between 6 and 8 weeks at most.

My BM dresses took a full three months to come in.
  • My sister has super sensitive skin and sent me this text a couple days ago...

"So I bought some Oil of Olay CC cream. It has SPF 15 and moisturizing tone correcting cream to fight the effects of aging...ya, I'm not sure if burning, blotchy and swelling is better than dry skin with fine lines."

Needless to say, her next face cream was Hydrocortisone and a Benedryl tablet!

This was just her own review of it though. I'm sure it works great for millions of others!

  • @SJM7538 - Does your vet take CareCredit?  It could help, they offer interest free financing for medical procedures.  I know my vet accepts it and has different terms for different costs (example:  my vet is $500-$2000 is 6 months interest free financing; $2000+ is 12 months).  If you go this route, make sure you ask to be charged up front (medicines and any follow-up).

  • I've ordered a BM dress for myself when I was in a friends wedding thru DB and I ordered my wedding dress through them. Both dresses took LESS than 2 weeks to come in.

The one time I got a bridesmaids dress from DB, it took 3 weeks to come in.

Sorry about your puggles :( My best friend is a veterinarian and from everything she's told me, you're a great pet owner for opting for life-saving surgery. Even if it's expensive :(

Hi! As long as you are ordering a regular dress and not from the Versa Wang dress line, I agree with the other posters! my last "regular" BM arrived in like 3-4 weeks.

I however have one Vera Wang BM dress that was ordered in February and it is STILL not in. Very concerned.

  • It's not anti-aging, but I use CeraVe moisturizer. It has SPF 30. I use coconut oil every night for anti-aging.

Ordered 3 BMs dresses the end of Feb. One has come in and the other 2 arent in yet. I think it depends on if they are needing to be made or not. The one that came in was a size 4 and the others were size 18. They said they would need to be made.
