Food Trucks for Late night feeding

Anyone getting a candy truck or some type of food truck for the midnight feeding? I am thinking about getting a candy truck. If anyone has any vendor info or pricing I would appreciate it!

Re: Food Trucks for Late night feeding

  • We are just doing a candy buffet by the door for when people leave. This way people can take what they like on their way to their cars. It was much more cost effective them food trucks when we priced it out.
  • You are a Highlawn bride right?  They allow you to get a food truck?

  • I'm not sure yet. I have been seeing a lot of late night snack options at weddings. Some are the candy truck and some venues actually have a station with fries and burgers during the viennese hour. Just trying to get some ideas and options.

I actually looked into this also, the two quotes I got were for $2500 and $3000. So disappointing that it would be that much money for a "snack" for 150 people at the end of the night.

  • I got a quote for $1500 for a candy truck  or $2000.00 for a candy truck plus 3 fast food options from www.afterhourssnacktruck.com. If I come across anything cheaper I will post the info. I agree  $1500.00 for candy is not worth it imo.
  • That's why I am doing the candy buffet. The venue is setting it up for me 45 min prior to the end of the reception. I got cute to go containers that I am personalizing and with the candy and glass containers (which you can rent if you don't want to buy) it is approximately $600 and that is with 11 different types if candy at 10 pounds each type.

It is the same thing as doing the candy truck but much more cost effective...
  • Try roaminghunger.com they say a food truck for 150 people for a snack is 600-900. Not bad at all. I'm trying to convince my fiance to get one so we can offer a savory snack to soak up all the alcohol. We're going to have a huge venetian hour so I don't want to just give them more sweets because it would probably make them sick. I was thinking gourmet grilled cheeses!
  • I've never even heard of such an idea.  It's cool.  A bit expensive and not sure the venue will permit it, but I've gotta check this out!

  • It wouldn't work at my venue. There is valet parking right in front and there would be nowhere for the food truck to park where anyone would see it. Also, you have to pay per person not by what is served...and I'm guessing no one is really going to be hungry after cocktail hour, a 4 course meal plus dessert/cake. It's a lot to spend for something that probably won't get used.
  • Where did you order the candy for your candy buffet?
  • @CrowleyJ13‌ I will be using Candy Warehouse online. I haven't ordered it yet, just prices it out and made my shopping list on their website. Their prices are the best I've found in my research and I have friends that used them who said their customer service was great.
  • @CrowleyJ13‌ my sister did a candy buffet and bought the candy from the bulk bins at Wegman's. She wasn't trying to match colors, just her favorite candy, and it was cheaper than we found online.

We will be purchasing 140 pounds of candy...it was definitely less expensive online then when we priced it out between bulk either at Wegmans or a place we go to in the Poconos.
  • Great, thanks so much!!!

I'm so glad I saw this thread! I've been trying to find one as well, and was quoted $1700-$2000 for a food truck (which is crazy!!). But maybe a candy buffet is a better idea...? I so loved the idea of the truck though.
