Wedding Vows & Ceremony Discussions

2 readings both by my side

I only wanted one reading and it is a poem being read by my brother-in-law (sister's husband).  Pastor just informed me I have to include a bible passage as well.  Not happy about this, but have to suck it up.  Anyway, is it ok if I ask my godfather?  We feel there are too many people from his side to pick from and are afraid of hurting feelings.  Does it look too one-sided if both readers are from my side?  FI does not mind, but I wonder if it looks bad.  At the same time, I am so frazzled and tired of dealing w/wedding stuff I don't care!  Thus, I turn to my fellow brides for help:)

    I don't think so.

Both readings are being done by friends of mine - one my FI knows quite well, one he has never met.  I asked him if it bothered him, and if he wanted one of his friends involved, and he said it was fine either way.
  • Yes, my FI is fine with it.  We are having the ceremony at the church b/c it is the one I grew up in and my parents are still very involved there.  While my FI and I are not religious we having it there for for those reasons.

My pastor will do the reading, but I figure I might as well have someone else do it.

Since your FI is fine with it then I think it's totally fine, don't fret about it.  It's not something people will remember after the fact and gossip about, in fact - most people probably won't even notice.
