Guest seating?

Sounds silly but when will guests find out which table they are assigned to? Is there usually a table with guests names and table number or do ushers tell them? Any ideas or tips would be helpful. Thanks!

We had a table set up outside the reception room with the escort cards on it.  The cards contained their name and table number.  There were also stickers on some to indicate they should receive a kid meal.  This is how it has been done at the majority of the weddings I've been to.  Some have a seating chart at the front of the room instead of escort cards.

Don't expect your ushers to keep track of the tables.

Usually there is a table at the reception venue.  It should be out in the cocktail hour area, with escort cards.  The guest picks up the card with his/her name, finds the table number, then takes that to the table to reserve his/her seat.

It doesn't need to be fancy, just little cards with name and table number.  Hope that helps!

Usually there are escort cards or a seating chart outside the door of the reception venue, and guests either pick up the cards or check the chart on their way inside.
