Blue Eye Photography (http://www.blueeyephotographybybridget.com/) did our engagement photos and wedding photos. I loved everything that she did for us. Our engagement photos were laid back. They were taken at a park in Eureka with lots of natural settings. It was exactly what we were wanting. For the wedding, she was there from the start when we were getting ready with makeup and hair to near the end of the reception. I was so happy to see all the photos she took in the end. There were many things I didn't see happen during the reception and a lot of details she captured while we were getting ready and throughout the day. We had great posed photos as well as non posed that captured the fun that we were having. We did have a moment when the flower girls were not too happy and she was able to get them to smile and be happy again. She definitely has a special way with children. I would recommend her for engagement, wedding, kids and family....so pretty much everything!
Catherine Thoele (http://www.catherinethoeleflorals.com/) - I actually found her name on the knot forum from someone else. We met with her at the beginning and we went over all the details, even some of them I was still working on. The number of bridesmaid, flower girls, mother/mother in laws and so on. We talked about the details of the wedding outside of the flowers so she could understand the design/look we were going for. I was confused in what I wanted in flowers, but knew some specific details. She was able to take little that I told her a made beautiful arrangements. She met us at the venue, made sure everyone got their flowers. She even went out to find the mothers, fathers and grandparents without even knowing who people are to make sure they got their flowers. She knows boys will be boys and made extra boutonniere for the guys....haha. She did a fantastic job and would recommend her. She does one wedding a weekend so she can focus on just your wedding. I think it shows in her work.
Bridal Connections (http://bridalconnections.net/) was great. I was able to look through all the dresses unlike davids bridal where you are not allowed to touch them, by the way how crazy is that? Everyone is really nice and helpful even during the weekends when they are super busy. I had a wonderful experience there. They did a wonderful job on the alterations. My dress a bit complicated and they never gave up. It was perfect!
Hair and Make up - Katie McCurdy (http://voguebeautysalon.net/)
I found Katie with a google search. She was willing to give me some example pictures of her work right away. I thought that was very helpful unlike some of the people I talked to before. She was able to do Hair for 4 bridesmaid and me, plus make up for me and my mother in-law to be. I was impressed. Everything looked great! I didn't feel like I had a ton of makeup on nor did I look it. We did a trial for my hair and makeup before the big day. We did a couple dos before we figured out what I liked and didn't like. Helpful for me who is indecisive at times. Another big plus for me, she was willing to travel without an extra charge, maybe because I was in the mileage that she was willing to go, I honestly can't remember. I do however remember that others added a charge for the distance. When you are watch your dollars that was not the best for me. Katie did a wonderful job, infact I have since been to here again for everyday haircuts and such. She is also a sweet and nice person that will have fun while doing everyones hair.
