When I say this is the first time I have ever actually been mad at him, this is true. I've gotten frustrated, but never mad. Until Sunday.
So Friday I asked FI what the plan was for MD and if we were going to take his mom out or anything. He had no plan, and made no attempt to create a plan. So Sat I went to my knitting group and one of the ladies there is a single mom with a baby (looooong story) and she was feeling down about her first MD. So one of our friends asks her what she wants. She wanted to go grocery shopping and get her toes done without the LO with her. I told her, "let me talk to FI to make sure we don't have plans tomorrow, but I could probably watch her in the morning if that is what you would like to do." So I got home, talked to FI and asked again about his mom and what we were going to do. Still no plans, so watching friends baby was fine. I go on Sunday morning to watch the baby and it was early afternoon when I was heading home, so I called FI real quick to let him know I'm on my way home, and when we get back we can go to your mom's house to say hi and all that. That is when he says "oh I already went there and gave her the flowers." Umm...excuse me????
I was so made at A) being left out of any plans, and not even getting a heads up call. And
I actually really like his mom, she is a wonderful person, and in two weeks will officially be my MIL and this kind of thing should really be done as a couple. So I got home, and told him about how mad it made me. He tells me, "well we never had any plans and you just went off and watched J's baby!" You're right we didn't have any plans, that is why I asked you several times about them and you never even called your mom until the day of!!! Anyways, we talked/shouted it all out and he understands why I was so upset. Then I got flowers the next day.
Even though we have had to have some tough conversations before, its nice to know we really can resolve things quickly and move on. I still love him to pieces and can't wait to get married.
