Bridesmaids dress color and shoes??

I am getting married in San Diego in November and having a hard time selecting the bridesmaid colors. They all said it is up to me and they are willing to wear any color.  I know I want them to wear chiffon dresses, which I think has more of a beachy, flowy look, but I also want the wedding to look elegant.  I know I want the groomsmen in black tuxes, so it needs to look good with black.  I was considering either a sky blue color or a mint green color (or something similar).  Any suggestions or opinions?  Also, if I go with either of those colors, would black shoes work with either of them since the men are wearing black?  Thank you!

I like the colors you mentioned, but I wouldn't pair them with black shoes - that would look too "heavy" with the flow-y, light-colored dresses you described. I'd go with a basic shoe color like nude, gold, or silver. Pick a basic shoe color (I'd probably go with silver on this one) and let the girls choose their own shoes!

I definitely wouldn't pair those color dresses with black shoes. Agree with PP - nude, silver or gold.

Agree with pps. The bridesmaids' shoes should complement their own dresses not the groomsmen's shoes and tuxes. Silver, gold, nude would work better with pastel shades for the dresses. You could check with your girls to see if they all own shoes in one of those colors, to ease up on their expenses.

I wore a light blue chiffon dress with silver shoes. We actually all had the choice between nude and silver, and all of us chose silver. It looked awesome!

Pastel chiffon doesn't pair well with black shoes. But don't worry so much about their shoes matching the groomsmen's shoes. No one will notice.
