I always carry my id.  Never know when you might need it.

I'm in my 40's and still get carded.  I wish it was because I look so young, but some places it's a policy to ask for ID regardless of your age.   Heck I need ID just get spray paint at Lowes the other day.   And Mucinex at the pharmacy.
You might live in a state where meth is a problem. Both of those are ingredients in meth, and some states limit how much you can buy per week/month. They are checking for smurfs.

Oh, I know the reason.  Just pointing out that you need your ID more than just to get alcohol and getting hit by a truck.   I think having your ID on you is just normal.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I always have my id on me. Definitely for the What Ifs. Not only does it have my address on it, but it shows I'm an organ donor. Gotta get those kidneys on ice, stat.
It's also absolutely mandatory in many places to check id when using a credit card or buying certain products, even if the person looks over 21.

Plus, I look young. I HOPE the bartenders at weddings card me lol

  • I always have my id with me. I woun't lie- getting id at the door of a wedding and making sure I was on the guest list would leave a very bad taste in my mouth about the couple.

This is a safety issue so I don't really care about the impression.  The venue is a rooftop lounge that has security and checks ID normally anyway.  But yes we are giving a description of the unwanted person to security and going to have point people to call so that invited guests who may not have ID will be let in.

FI always has his wallet on hand and I usually have a little clutch for my makeup, etc. and I just feel more secure with my license and a credit card on me. (Also some cash just in case there's a cash bar--sadly, only about half the weddings I've attended have been fully, properly hosted so I've learned to come prepared :/ )
  • I try to always have ID and medical insurance card on me.

  • I always have my ID if I leave the house. Even on my walks, I tuck it in my sock.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I always bring my I.D when I go to a wedding, or out to dinner. I always get carded when I buy alcohol.
