I have found 1 venue that I really like and can afford. The venue told me that they can only accommodate 100 seated with a dance floor, but I have a guest list of 120. Maybe not everyone will make it, but I don't want to bank on that. There is no way to shrink the guest list. I come from a very large family and have already cut out almost all of my cousins and am only inviting 3 friends on my bride side. It's either have no one at my wedding, or all my aunts and uncles.
So to the venue, it's adorable and would benefit a charity, which I love, and it's in my price range. The ballroom which can only seat 120 if there is no dance floor is 1,531 square feet. There is also a stage however that is 407 square feet. In talking to the lady she says to accommodate my number of guests I could try to utilize the stage and estimates that the DJ could go up there and I would probably need to put 2 tables totaling 20 people up there to make it fit. She said some people asked if they could have the dance floor on the stage as well. Her concerns however, and mine as well are of people falling off the stage.
Can anyone think of any kind of railing system or way I could rig something so it would support people who may fall? My first thought was barrels blocking the stage edge filled with something, but I don't know how well that would work and it seems out of my budget. Any ideas??
By the way I don't have a wedding party, so no wedding party tables are in existence.
