Wedding Woes

Tired of Wedding Planning & I Need to Vent!!

Is anyone else getting tired of wedding planning? I remember in the beginning being so excited I felt like I would burst, spending hours on pinterest, reading hundred of articles on here. Now I am just ready for it to be all over. I think dealing with vendors is what has started to ruin everything for me. I would assume most vendors would be happy to cater to a wedding for the income but it seems like all I have experienced is people who are inconvenienced by me for inquiring. I only get 1 day off a week (Mondays) and work up to 10 hours a day so its hard for me to have time to make appointments to meet with people so when vendors say they don't work on Mondays and there is no one else who deals with weddings I can talk to it's so frustrating. I offer to send emails, pictures, discuss things on the phone, visit before hours or after hours (I also live a half hour out of the city so its a drive no matter where I go) they all say they can't do anything for me. When I accept that they refuse to see me I ask them if they have any other recemondations of other vendors and they get all offended!! Like come on I was willing to hire you, you refuse to see me, why get offended? Also I seem to be getting all these horrible rude people, one bakery I set up a meeting with I showed up and when I asked if I could sit down and ask a few questions, she said no she doesn't have time!! I don't get it, I call a couple of weeks in advance and set up a meeting and you don't have time to answer any of my questions!!! Another bakery I had an appointment with told me that the vanilla cupcake I had ordered to sample wouldn't be made for 3 weeks!!! Seriously 3 weeks?? When I asked if there was an ingredient that was on back order, they said no they just didn't feel like making them!!! Grrrrrrrrrr!!! Anyone else just getting sick of wedding planning and all the stress of it?

  • Any vendor who refused to meet with me, work with me, or accommodate me would be a vendor I refused to use.

  • Those vendors all sound terrible. Be glad you're seeing how they are now because they would probably be awful to work with.

  • Yes! I am so stressed out as well.  I really get it.  Even though I have a year until my wedding we are also house hunting so i want to get this out of the way.  Many vendors have treated me as if they did not want my business so I never went further with them.  One vendor even told me they didn't want to work for me because I asked them to explain the terms of their contract and they refused.  You would think they want the business but most are arogant and full of themselves.

Vendors really started ruining it for me too. We are getting married in less than 4 months and are thankfully almost done! It's upsetting when some vendors make you feel like you're bothering them. I have had some totally ignore my emails and then I start to go to crazytown and wonder if my email's broken or if I offended them somehow. I have sent my baker 2 emails in 12 days (2nd email was today) to see if our cake design was ok and I still haven't heard back and when I was asking my florist some questions about pricing he told me that he really needed me to commit because I was taking up too much of his time. It's very frustrating, but I keep telling myself that it's almost over and the day of I just hope they all show up and do their jobs the best they can.
  • I hear you!  We're about 5 months from the wedding... I am sooooo stressed out!  (Totally ready to elope, haha)

I'm sorry to hear you're having such bad luck with vendors!  I understand they're busy and it's "wedding season," but you'd think they would be a little more eager to accommodate new business...
