Turks and Caicos or St Lucia?

We are trying to find a place to go for our honeymoon in November, and so far have come across Turks and Caicos or St Lucia.  We are looking for a place with beautiful beaches and an all inclusive resort for about 5 days. We would prefer young couples, we are in our early 30s/ late 20s.  We would like to spend time on the beach, and in the pool/ swim up bar... and would also like to do one or two fun excursions while we are there (swim with dolphins, snorkeling, etc).  Would anyone recommend one of the two places I listed over the other?  Or, any other suggestions?

Re: Turks and Caicos or St Lucia?

  • Given that Turks has very few AIs and it will be a little more temperate there in November (as it's a little further north), I'd check out St. Lucia. However, passing along your budget may get you better, more helpful replies!

  • What is your budget?  Do you have passports?

  • We want to stay around 5k or close to it.  Yes we both have passports
  • I've never been to Turks and Caicos but I have been to St.Lucia and I highly recommend it!!! You can find some quite nice places there within your budget.

We have been to St Lucia and have plans to go to Caicos this November. We enjoyed St Lucia and stayed at Sandals. There are 3 there and you can "stay at one and play at three". You can use the facilities at all three. There is a shuttle bus running between the 3 resorts but not that often. We are older and stayed at Halcyon (the least expensive and quitest). We did go to the others during the day/evening as we were there 9 days. For you I would recommend The Grande. It seemed to be filled with lots of young couples on their honeymoon. The only really negative thing i would say is that they severly water down the drinks. They cannot water down beer and wine though. You can also ask for doubles but it doesnt help that much. Diving and snorkeling are included. You take a boat to a reef near the resort. The grande has a couple of reefs they go to so go more than once. La Toc and Halcyon use the same boat and also go a couple of places (different from the Grande). We did not do any excursions other than a snorkel and BBQ trip to the Pitons through Sandals. There ia a national park next to the Grande with old forts on it. We went over and hiked around the area. Take water if you go.
  • We just got back from staying at the BodyHoliday in St. Lucia. It was amazing!!!!!! There wasn't a lot of younger couples there but you get daily spa treatments and the food and drinks were really, really good.
