How was everyone's weekend?

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

I finished everything I wanted to get done and I got to work in the yard which was exciting. Plus I got some surprising but good news. My FI is leaving in the morning for a work thing and I have the house to myself for two whole days. I'm so looking forward to that. Also my mom was in a random baking mood and she dropped off a container of s'mores cookies. So yay! Awesome weekend.

  • Yay!  What was the news?  Or, is the news that you'll have the house to yourself?

This was a busy weekend and it will be a busy week.  Friday we had Fi's family over for his 29th birthday. Saturday, Fi had a bunch of friends over to celebrate my graduation.  We were out late partying, then had to get up super early today for my sister's graduation at 8:30am.  Then we spent all day today at my dad's house with family, BBQing for my sister's celebration.

All next week starts various graduation-related stuff, dress shopping, and my actual graduation on Thursday afternoon.  It's going to be crazy.  I think I'll spend most of Memorial Day weekend sleeping!

  • S'mores cookies yum!

FI and I also had a great weekend. We stayed overnight up north for our engagement photos. When we arrived at the hotel, they upgraded us to a honeymoon suite at no extra cost. FI yelled "Bazinga!" in the lobby when they told us.

  • I had dinner with a friend on Friday night. Saturday, FI and I spent the day with his family for his niece's first communion. Today we continued our seemingly never ending house hunt.

    Overall, great weekend!

Great! We got my future stepdaughter's dress altered. I had my hair trial and boudoir shoot. Kids got to go skating. We played outside today and then took the kids for ice cream after dinner. Now...wine. All in all a good weekend, and the last "free" weekend we have until the wedding. :)

Holy crap...less than 5 weeks left!!!

  • We had a super crazy/busy weekend. FI and I went to a gala event for his work on Friday night. I got up early on Saturday to take care of the oil change for my car, then did grocery shopping at the Asian market and the regular market. And cleaned the whole apartment before making dinner for FFIL (Guinness-braised short ribs, braised Chinese vegetables, roasted potatoes, and sauteed carrots then s'mores pie for dessert). I was super tired by the time FFIL left and passed out on the couch. For 12 hours. Got up this morning and tried to wade through my inbox before heading out again - 8 stores in 2 different counties in less than 4 hours. I got some more wedding stuff and replenished some home-essentials at Walmart. Now I'm tired again. Thank goodness it's almost bedtime!

  • We're still in San Francisco for another day.  We went to Sunday's a Drag brunch at the Starlight this morning, and lets just say that I've got some competition  for DH now.  Apparently, he's a Drag Queen's dream cos they kept snuggling up to him all morning.  :D  It was totally awesome.  I can't feel my feet or lower legs though after all of the walking we've done over this past weekend.  I think we've climbed at least 5 of the major hills here.

@JCbride2015‌ I've had some health problems in the past that would have made it nearly impossible for me to get pregnant. So FI and I have started the adoption process but in addition to that I've been taking some treatments that could possibly help improve our chances. I honestly didn't think they would work but my doctor called me with some test results and she told me that not only are they working but she gave FI and I the green light to start trying.
    That is so great!!!!

  • @jdluvr06 All of that sounds great! This is the last week at my current work/residence, so I attended a few end-of-year parties. Last night, I went to a bar dance near Santa Cruz (soooo much fun!), then today I looked at possible bridesmaid dresses, talked to FI, settled our reception menu and now I'm baking cupcakes with friends!
  • Other than the disaster of the bachelorette party from yeaterday, not much.

I went grocery shopping tonight, then made DH potato salad.

I found a cute pair of nude peep-toe slingbacks for work for $30.

I re-washed the laundry DH left in the washer for four days, and washed two other loads of laundry. Made the bed, did the dishes, cleaned the apartment, organised my gardening supplies, bought plants and planted them, balanced the chequebook, sorted and re-shelved the books DH and I bought recently, and put away all the clean clothes.

  • Well, other than Mass this morning, my weekend was spent at work....my "weekend" starts at 7am!  Can't wait!  Lots to get done:

Stepmom wants me to come over so she can help with planning.

Putting together a box of goodies to send to FI....just because.  :)

Hopefully meeting with a friend from church who's helping with the reception.

Helping my grandpa sort through some of my grandma's things...  :(

Phone calls to make, all that jazz...

So it's going to be a busy "weekend", but good.  :)    FI starts his Summer term tomorrow, too.

  • My Fi was at a bachelor party Fri and Saturday night (3 hours away) but drove 2 hours to have an early dinner with my son and I on Saturday night, which I thought was super sweet. :) Yesterday was a snugglefest.
  • I got fired on Friday, so I spent my weekend moping. I am no fun right now.

My weekend was good. I found out my MRI results were negative on Friday so I'm relieved and also so thankful my health is still good. I had really bad migraines last weekend so I consider this weekend a "win" that I only had a slight headache last night.

On Saturday FI and I saw the movie Neighbors. It was pretty good. I love me some Dave Franco and Zac Efron.

I didn't do a whole bunch else except clean our place up and go grocery shopping. I was so exhausted from a long work week that I felt compelled to be lazy.

  • @Inkdancer - so sorry.  :(

FI and I went Friday and saw Godzilla (his choice), and I went and got fitted for my longline bra so I got that ordered, along with a sash.  He's working 12pm-10pm through Thursday, so Saturday I cleaned the house, watched my stuff on the DVR, bought flowers, and watched a couple movies.  Yesterday I went to my old house and moved everything upstairs from the basement so I could bleach the concrete floors (the cats' litter boxes were down there and sometimes one poops on the floor instead of in the box), so my butt is beat today from going up and down the stairs carrying stuff.  Plus I mowed the grass.  I wish I wouldn't have forgotten my Fitbit so I could know how many flights of stairs plus how many steps I got!

Just waiting for this weekend - we are going to a winery-heavy area to stay in a B&B, and maybe get our bikes out on the Katy Trail and drink lots of wine.  We only have 2 weekends left alone before his kids move back up, so we're enjoying the quiet time.  :)

  • @Inkdancer I'm so sorry! Lots of hugs and wine for you.

My weekend was pretty nice. Friday night FI and I just hung out at home. Saturday I had to get up FAR too early (7:45...far cry from the 10 am I like to sleep to on the weekends) to greet the guys that fixed our roof. $1100 later at least we don't have any more mushrooms growing out of our ceiling.

We also had our floral appointment on Saturday which went well. She's using craspedias in my bouquet and his bout and FI learned that they're commonly referred to as Billy Balls...FI's name is Billy...he's already planning lots of jokes around that for the day of our wedding. After that I got good and day drunk at our local liquor store for their 50th birthday party. Lots of free wine, food, and music. I then slept for 2 hours and FILs came down to our house for a little campfire on our patio.

Sunday was quiet. FI worked again and then we went to a dinner party at an old friend's house. It was really nice to catch up with her and her husband. They also have an almost 2 year old that I spent about an hour chasing around and tickling. Baby fever is back in full swing now!

  • My weekend was awesome :-) My girls threw me an awesome Bachelorette party in Palm Springs and everyone's looking forward the wedding this weekend. Can't believe it's finally here! Soooo exciting!
  • My days off are Monday and Tuesday, so my weekend has just begun. FI is editing a wedding he filmed last Saturday, so he'll be in his office all day. My big plans include, laundry (including bed sheets), grilling, and watching the food network :-) I may begin addressing some invites if I get motivated and figuring out what to do for table numbers and centerpieces. 110 days! Happy Monday!

Dammit... This thread isn't even about weddings!
  • Oh good God. I cannot deal with another wave of newbies.

  • Why the hell would they newsletter this? Ugh.

@inkdancer, I'm so sorry to hear that. That sucks major balls. All the wine for you.

Speaking of balls, @ckel24 I mentioned to my sister that there were billy balls in my arrangements and that just set her off. "Who the hell is Billy and why do you have his balls? Does Jake know about this?" She won't let it go. :-p

@jdluvr06 that is AWESOME! Yay happy thoughts. None of the wine for you. ;)

Had an awesome weekend... crafty times and a game night with friends on Saturday, went to FI's lil bro's lacrosse game Sunday morning and they murderized the other team 11-4, then had a big family dinner at my sister's house with my mom, aunts and other sister and all their various manfriends and bebes. It was lovely.Feeling craptastic to be back at work though... some broad is trying to throw me under the bus for shit I know nothing about. Blah.

  • @lolo883 that is hilarious! Our florist knows FI pretty well (he works at a bank, she's a customer there) and started giggling before she could even tell him what they were commonly known as. He just got this huge grin on his face and I could see all the jokes spinning in his head.

At least maybe this is an opportunity for some new posters to say hi without jumping into an etiquette minefield.

My weekend was good. I walked in the AIDS walk yesterday and that was a good time. I'm hoping this week goes by fast!
