I'm actually OFF on Memorial Day -- like, paid holiday off -- for the first time in about a decade, so I'm pretty excited about that.

BSC granny wants me and DH (well, really just DH) to take her to the cemetery where her husband is buried so she can put (fake) flowers on his grave. DH is resisting, and BSC granny is imploring crazy auntie to ask me to ask DH.

Uhm....no.

I'd kind of assume that fake flowers on a grave is kind of littering. Like, really, that's not gonna biodegrade.

My dad gets really nice fake flowers to put on his mother's grave on Mother's Day. On Thanksgiving he goes back and removes them. He tried a small planter but it required too much upkeep (watering, making sure the groundskeeper didn't knock it over) and cut flowers don't last all summer.

Nice fake flowers I get. One stalk of remaindered fake mums planted in the dirt 'for show' baffles me.

Although pretty much every.damn.thing about DH's grandmother baffles me.
