Levaquin

does anyone here have any experience with taking Levaquin?

Re: Levaquin

  • Haven't taken it myself, but I'm a nurse and I give it to others regularly.  Do you have any specific questions?

  • I think we've decided to try a different antibiotic, but thank you!!
  • I took it, and it's a pain in the butt. Super effective, but it wrecks your body in the process.

  • @cocobellaf ALL THE PROBIOTICS.  C. diff is a bitch.  And it is my duty to advocate for probiotics constantly.
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • I decided I wasn't comfortable taking it, so I'm waiting to hear what else they'll rx.  already tried Biaxin XL, and MY GOD.  I thought I wasn't going to live through the night!

@Blue & White - I have a probiotic, but I am taking one capsule a day (as per the bottle).  I got it at Wal-Mart.

  • @reginaphalange1 Who are you? It's probably not a good idea to put your name as well as your SO's full name on here.
  • No, I'm not a troll. It's an antibiotic, not heroin. It's not that serious.

  • @reginaphalange1 -It doesn't matter if you think it's serious or not, what you said was rude.

I'd say my assessment is pretty spot on.

  • I wouldn't say I'm concerned but you're welcome.

I do appreciate your hypochondriac camel.

  • Coco, I had a reaction to Biaxin as well.  Lots and lots of hives!
  • @Sakalicious - no hives, but I thought my stomach was going to be absolutely ripped from my body.  I was sick for over 36 hours after the first dose (it was an extended-release pill).  I have NEVER been that sick from an antibiotic!  I am on the Augmentin now, and I was up all night sick again but it's not as bad as the Biaxin.  I'm on it for 3-6 weeks so I hope it settles down a little bit.  popping those probiotics and waiting on them to work their magic!  I was allergic to penicillins as a child (rashes) but we decided to try it and see what happened.  so far, no rash but I've only had one dose.
