I can't help but think that most wedding dresses are ugly. I never got the mermaid/trumpet style, I don't like lace patches on skirts, and ruffles remind me of cake, etc. So when it came to shopping for my dress, I thought it would take a few shops at least. Today I went to a wonderful non profit event, Brides Against Breast Cancer, and within trying on 8 dresses and 2 hours, I found the one and a matching veil! It has everything on my wishlist (ballgown style, sweetheart neckline, sparkle and beading, tulle skirt, and nothing on the skirt) and I couldn't be more thrilled and relieved. Alterations will have to be made but I got it at a pretty good price and under my budget so I'm not so worried there. The dress is a size too small and long on me so I'm switching out the zipper in the back for a lace/wrap up and shorten the length which will work perfectly. With some of the tulle taken off, I might add sleeves since I think the strapless look is very common and overdone. I'm still in shock at how fast I found it but I know what I like, what I don't like, and what works well for my figure. HAPPY DANCE!
The dress on the top (2011 Jasmine Collection Style F359) below is almost like mine but mine is without the beading on the skirt and I'm going without the hideous brown belt - these are the photos I found online.
