I'm making DH banana bread. Which kind of frosting should I make?

I love making banana bread FI loves it too, I never usually add frosting but buttercream sounds yummy.

I usually see a glaze on banana bread, so confectioners sugar would be best for that.

I am a fan of banana bread sans frosting, bit if it must be so, then you can't go wrong with anything cream cheese.

I have never heard of putting frosting on banana bread either! I must try this ASAP. The more ways to get cream cheese frosting into my mouth the better!

I've never heard of frosting banana bread.  I usually top mine with some demerrara sugar, which gives it a nice sparkle and crunch, though.

I would either do a sugar sprinkle or a glaze. But I like to toast my banana bread and slather it with butter, so my advice may not be best.

This must be a regional thing, because I grew up with frosting on banana bread -- kind of like pumpkin bread always had frosting, too. 

I ended up making muffins, sans frosting, and DH is a happy man. So win.

My dad makes zuccini bread and I smother each slice with cream cheese. It's so freaking good.

I have never had frosting on banana bread or pumpkin bread, but I do like to butter banana bread...man..now I want to make banana bread, but FI would be sad, since he is on a diet and cant have it. Maybe I will make it when he is off.

None. Weird. But if pressed, I guess cream cheese. But really, none. Bread doesn't need frosting.

You could also do chocolate chip banana bread muffins instead of loaves! Those were always a favorite snack/fast breakfast of mine when I was a kid. I've never heard of frosting banana bread...or any sort of bread for that matter and we make pumpkin, banana, and zucchini bread all the time. Now I really really want to go bake something....

Sometimes, I put chocolate chips, walnuts and halved maraschino cherries in banana bread. No frosting.

First, chocolate chips in banana bread are just about the greatest thing ever. I always make mine with chocolate chips.

Second, I've never seen frosting on banana bread but I think confectioners sugar or cream cheese would go best.

I can't believe I have never thought about putting frosting on banana bread. Frosting and banana bread are two of my favorite foods. Putting them together would make the ultimate dessert for me.
