A very happy weekend!

Mine was fabulous!

We had our "meet the families" backyard bbq on Saturday and it was a far bigger success than anyone imagined. Tons of amazing food, everyone getting along beautifully, and lots of happy calls after. Woohoo!

Our stove finally died yesterday morning. I'm thrilled! FI didn't want to replace to POS until it was dead (we're saving aggressively for the wedding) but I hated the stove. We bought a replacement 2 hours later and it will be installed by the time I get home tonight. Again, woohoo!

I just got the security deposit back from my old apartment so I used it towards the centerpieces for our wedding. We're trying to keep things very inexpensive and, while this was forgotten money, I'm sticking to our plan. I've just ordered votives (LED), votive holders, and centerpiece flowers (Costco). The venue has vases and table numbers so they're still inexpensive. We might buy fancier vases or add other decorations to the tables if we have more money closer to the event. We're trying very hard to have a flexible budget in case of unexpected last minute expenses. Woohoo!

And, in the name of TMI, the rash on my feet is finally healing!  I can't tell if it is allergies, a heat rash (I was in the dessert last week for a few days), or something else but the tops of my feet were a gross mess. They are finally starting to feel better.  Woohoo!

How about you? Any good things happen this weekend?

Re: A very happy weekend!

  • We got our new patio furniture put together and on the deck and our new washer, dryer and fridge delivered and flowers planted.  I want to spend all of our time on the back deck instead of working on other projects in the house.

  • I just worked this weekend, but I like it so that's okay!

  • We went to FI's cousins graduation BBQ, which was nice. I'm happy for him, he's excited to have graduated college. Yesterday we had dinner with my parents which was lovely. I feel so unmotivated today, though.

  • Sounds like you had a great weekend!

Our weekend was nice, too! On Saturday we met up with some friends downtown and went to my local chalk art festival. That was fun, but I got a little burnt. Sunday I went with my workout buddy in the morning to a class and then we went shopping after. Shopping=a very happy Sara.
