Family-Moon in Holcombe WI

Hi Neighbors!

I'm a MN bride but have a question for those of you in WI. After our July 28th wedding, we will be taking our kids (this is a 2nd marriage for both of us) to lovely Holcombe, WI for a family-moon. Is anyone familiar with the area? How's the fishing? Any suggestions or comments on what we should pack?

    The lake and flowage up there are awesome!  (Family lives in the Cornell/Holcombe/Gilman area, and my parents have a cabin on the Flambeau River which is just about 5-10 min north of there).  Both the Flambeau River and Chippewa River combine just a bit north of the lake/flowage so the fishing is excellent.  Big Swedes Bar and Grill has fantastic food, as does Big Teds if you're looking for places to dine or go out to.  Have fun! :)

    I used to visit this area growing up.  We used to stay at Paradise Shores Resort.  I would recommend this place.  From what I can remember, it was very nice :)
