Wine wedding decor?

I know I have seen several knotties mention they are incorporating corks, bottles, etc into their decor and center pieces. I fell in love with a centerpiece I saw last fall and started stashing away corks, but need more ideas. Also any suggestions on colors? 90% of my wardrobe and home decor is black and white and FI has been helpful enough to say he wants color, but didn't provide an suggestion as to which colors. I'm helpless so any suggestions and pics would be appreciated!

I know both her and I are having wine themed weddings. I'm using painted wine bottles as table numbers, corks for the escort cards, and my colors are navy blue, apple green and white. It's a fall wedding but I wanted to stay away from fall colors. We're getting married outside at a winery and will have the vines and huge garden as our backdrop. If you search wine weddings on pinterest I'm sure you will get a TON of inspiration!

We used crystal wine glasses with candles in them on a mirror and a wine bottle with a number on it for our centerpieces. Between the wine glasses (we had a wine glass, a champagne flute and a cordial glass so there were different heights on each table) were 3 coffee filter roses. The crystal really made the light dance. Our colors were black and gold.

I personally am not a fan of full-blown theme weddings, even for something as fabulous and universal as wine. With that said, what is your actual theme? Wine, the drink? Or a winery-type feel? Wine the drink: 1. I would assume that you will pay attention to details such as having "correct" wine glasses for the various types of wine, considering wine is your theme so it's clearly important to you. I'd also mention that having a wine-pairing with dinner would be a great idea. 2. You could have a port/dessert wine tasting during the late reception. 3. Your colors and decor could be inspired by wine by using burgundy/maroon/brick red/deep grape colors with complimenting accent colors. OR you could do black and white while having the grape-colors as your accents. 4. Your tables could be named as your favorite wineries or types of grapes 5. Favors could be wine-stops, wine openers, aerators, or half-bottles of your favorite wine. 6. You could get a double magnum bottle and use that as your guest book. Winery theme: 1. Generally rustic and unassuming style of decor. AKA: wood accents, used wine barrels, lots of textured greenery. A picnic sort of feel could also be appropriate. 2. I'd again stick with proper glasses and a wine-paired dinner. 3. I'm posting my panic in regard to the wall of text I just posted again, so you don't think that I wrote that paragraph and was happy with how it turned out. lol. I can't figure out how to correct the formatting so it's actually broken up into segments. What the heck.

They have cute little wine glass (for lack of a better term) lampshades. The shade has different designs and rests on the top of the glass. LEDs or tealights are the perfect compliment to add a warm romantic sort of touch. Chalkboard pain on the bottles can be fun too. Great for table numbers. :-)

Our wedding was at a winery so we used that for inspiration for decorating. We used corks to hold the place cards. We cut the bottoms off to make them flat and then made a slit in the top to hold the card. We also glued corks around the outside of votives and tied a piece of ribbon around them in our colors. For our actual centerpieces, we did half lanterns with pillar candles and half painted wine bottles. Here are pics! 

ETA: Our colors were black, white, and grey. I think purple is a really great color for a wine-themed wedding!

This is what I'm planning to do for centerpieces, minus the flowers. I'm also painting the wine bottle with chalk paint. 

And I'm doing this for place cards 

We don't really have "colors". My MOH is wearing purple. That's about it.

@swazzle I love the corks around the candles! Did you DIY or purchase those already done up?

I love this!! Where did you get the decorations you have coming out of the bottle?

@cupcait927 - I made them! It was a little time consuming but really easy and it was one of my favorite things at the wedding. I just used a hot glue gun to glue the corks to the votive and then glued the ribbon to the corks to keep it from sliding down. The votives I got were from Walmart, they come in the holder and all and I loved them.

@ClimbingBrideNY - Dollar Tree and Michaels! We just grabbed random sprigs of stuff that we thought would work and spray painted them to look less "earthy" and to match our colors.

Same here! I may have to try the candle votive project this weekend while FI is at work. We have a TON of corks and I won't use probably even a third of them for the escort cards.

@ClimbingBrideNY - I believe it was just a matte spray paint. Nothing special! 

@cupcait927 - Do it! They came out so good, I think some of our guests  took a bunch home (which was fine with me) and I still have some left over. We had 4 on each table (13 tables), some on the bars, the cake table, and in the bathrooms. I made A LOT of them hahaha

@climbingbrideny I'm going to try the matte spray paint route as well. I keep hearing that chalkboard paint can peel off and it's just not that reliable/doesn't hold up well. Matte black spray paint and then white paint for the table numbers should give me the same look and be a whole lot easier to do than the chalkboard paint.

I think this may be what I'm going to try as well.
