Getting married in 2 days!!!--UPDATED I'm back! w/ a few non-pro PIP

I just cleared the rest of the work off my desk, set up an out of office email, and I am out!  All I have left to do is finish tying ribbons on my favors.  Then tomorrow is pampering day and our "non-rehearsal dinner" with our BP in the evening, and Saturday is the wedding!  It feels odd that after 11 months of planning, it's in 48 hours!  Hopefully I get some decent non-pro pics to post before we leave on our HM on Monday.

Thanks for all the planning advice and moral support, ladies of TK!

So we just got back from a great HM in Hawaii.  The wedding went really well.  We were blessed with great weather.  We started with a first look on the steps of the New York Public Library and then a bunch of pictures around some midtown NYC landmarks. It was really cool because lots of random strangers congratulated us and a few tourists ran up to get selfies with the bride and groom.  Then we got photobombed by the Ghostbusters 30th anniversary convention on the steps of the NYPL!  I don't have any of those pics yet but my photographers got a bunch of us posed with about 15 guys in full-on ghostbusters uniforms, plus the ghost-detector "equipment."

Our wedding was smallish, about 75 guests, at a new rooftop lounge in midtown Manhattan.  We got to talk to everyone for a little bit due to that number of guests.  I got a lot of skepticism and flak during planning about the non-traditional venue, but afterwards all the guests told me they loved it!  We got skyline views at sunset for cocktail hour and all lit up at night for the rest of the event.  The food was high-end but fun like a taco and blood orange margarita cart at cocktail hour and a savory lasagna cupcake for an appetizer.  We did non-traditional flower centerpieces with just draping white orchids from tall skinny vases.  My mom told me afterwards that her friends said it was the classiest wedding they have ever been to, and she was one of the people that gave me the most crap during planning!  So my advice to everyone is that as long as you are properly hosting your guests, ignore anyone who complains that you might want to do things a little differently. 

I loved the way my hair and m/u came out (I splurged on an expensive MUA after doing a trial with someone more "reasonable" and not liking it, but it was totally worth it).  It kind of sucked to take the dress off at the end of the night; since the whole day was a whirlwind I didn't really get to admire myself much in it!  I told H that I want to put it back on and prance around my apartment for a few hours more before dropping it off for cleaning.

There were a few minor snafus which at the moment seemed like big deals to me but no one remembered afterwards.  We had some difficulty with the mic during the speeches, and the guitarist who played during the ceremony had some issues with his amp so it wasn't as loud as I would have liked.

I feel good about the great feedback we got since I put so much work into planning and did it 99% by myself.  The BM said during his speech that he was "honored to preside over the only 5 minutes of the evening that the bride didn't plan"!  Also my H would get grumpy sometimes during the planning process when I would ask for his input on things but afterwards he thanked me for what a good job I did and told me he had a great time.
