Aggie's Cakes-vent!

Went there today for a cake tasting. The woman that "helped" me was rude, insulting and condesending towards me. I wondered if there was any room for negotiation and the price and she basically yelled at me and said no and that if I cannot afford the cakes I should go somewhere else. I calmly informed her it was not just about price; yes, I would like a good deal but SERVICE is most important. Finally I informed her I would be getting my cake from another baker (more expensive) and she stated that she "didnt realize" and was "taken aback". she proceeded to apologize but by then it was too late.

I just wanted to vent, I was very optimistic about Aggie's but left very disappointed.

Re: Aggie's Cakes-vent!

  • That sucks! I can't stand it when a vendor does something like that. I hope you end up with a beautiful cake!
  • Sorry to hear about your poor experience. I used Aggie and I chose them not only for the delicious decorated cake, but the service I recieved when I arrived from start to finish (I already visited several bakers).
Sounds like you didn't dealt with Aggie herself or her mother. They were very informatiave, accomondating, and nice. She even match my budget just like that and gave me a free anniversary cake on my two year.
Who ever dealt with you should not give the same service to other brides or customer. Even though you are going with someone else, I think you should talk to Aggie personally about this ordeal so that she doesn't have that staff ruin any more of her customers.
I have referred my girlfriends to her on many occassions (my sister-n-law used her too for her wedding) and they have nothing but positive comments.

    Good Luck!

  • I completely agree with you, from what I hear Aggie is lovely and helpful- it's some(one) of her staff that is giving the shop a bad name... I ended up going with Simma's and have been thrilled with everything thus far.

  • The Cake Lady is one to avoid. I called her twice, had to leave messages- no big deal, then finally I emailed her and she called me back. I think she is a one-woman show because she said she can't bake and answer the phone at the same time. Ok, than I asked her about tastings-she said she needs 1 weeks notice, then she said actually 2 weeks. Then I told her my date and she said she only does 4 weddings a night and that she was very busy. She realyy sounded like she didn't want my business and was too busy to even speak to me. If she had attitude before I even order the cake, what will she be like once I order the cake and there is a problem???? STAY AWAY!!! Aggie's is very helpful, wonderful to work with, respects her brides and has great tasting cakes at great prices!
