This was my first time to Vegas – definitely already
starting to plan a second trip. Absolutely loved it!!! There was a lot of
stress planning the wedding, without having been here before, but I don’t know
what I would have done without this Board! Everything went very smoothly, but hopefully
these reviews will be helpful to others! I will post the reviews from the
reception/night of separately. This is my first time posting pictures, so
hopefully it works….
Mandalay Bay/Vista Suite (A) - The Vista
Suite was absolutely amazing. We were on the 32nd floor – and
everything was in good condition. For the entire group there were 10 rooms
blocked and no one had any complaints about the check-in process or issues with
the customer service. The only thing that pissed me off was I had asked for 8
wine glasses for the meet & greet and they needed to charge me $3/glass
(plus delivery charge & a tip). I should have just had people bring the
glasses up from their room! They did give me an extra empty refrigerator and
the cleaning people happened to stop by after the meet & greet to haul out
all the trash so it wasn’t there when we got ready the next day.
Masterpiece Cuisine (A) - Delivery and set up
was on time and the food was amazing. We got the shrimp skewers, Jim Beam
meatballs, roadhouse slides, veggie & dip platter, mini tacos, and
spinach/artichoke dip (which was my favor). There was way too much food that I
felt guilty throwing away (as there was no microwave…)
Makeup in the 702 – (A++) - We had 6 hair and
2 make up appointments for a 9AM ceremony. Megan sent 3 girls and one make up artist
– who promptly arrived at 5:45am, set up, and were ready by 6. All the girls we
very sweet and we had a lot of fun. Given some of the recent negative reviews,
I was extremely nervous about the make up. There was no reason to be. I
absolutely LOVED the way she did my make up – and it did last through the
night, as promised. Everyone was very happy about the
final product.
Mandalay Bay Wedding Chapel/Shark Reef
Aquarium (A) - Our ceremony was at the Shark Reef Aquarium at 9am. If I could
it again, I would still have it here, even though it was so early. Since I
signed the contract last July, we had 4 different wedding coordinators. It was
kind of annoying to go through the whole process of going through our portfolio
and requests each time, but all the wedding coordinators were very responsive
to my emails, so I guess I can’t complain too much. I sent pictures of the
bouquets and the florist did a really good job. They even made up 2 different
bouquets for my sister (MOH) because she didn’t really like the way that the
one I chose came out (since I had made some modifications).
Cashman Photography (C) Cashman did the
photography for the ceremony only. The photographer told us that she does the
majority of the Shark Reef weddings, so we were very excited about that. She
was also very personable and we liked working with her. When we went to view
the pictures after, we were not so excited. Firstly, we had 1 group photo done.
There were only 17 of us – and a lot of the people in the back couldn’t be
seen. I thought that she would have moved people around a bit and made sure
that 1 picture was decent!! The Shark Reef was dark – but I think that she
could have made the pictures a little lighter by changing the lens. After we
tipped her I asked for a picture of just my sister and me. My sister was
wearing a dark purple dress – and in the picture it just looked like two
floating heads. Once again, why didn’t she say anything as I could see her
looking at the pictures after they were taken?
We went for the consultation the next day and
after the sales woman got whiff that weren’t getting the big package, she
basically ignored us for the rest of the appointment. I tried the other day to
order the CD (which price when down from 1100-760). I was trying to get it down
to 500 by excluding some photos, but they wouldn’t budge. Disappointing because
the location was really cool and wish I could have more memories of it.
