I found my dress!!

So, in light of the sale at David's Bridal, we went over there today, I had found somethings that I liked online, and wanted to try.  And I wanted to see colors in real life rather than on a computer.  Well, it was a mad house, and the amount of choices they had, well that was just down right sad.  They only had 2 of the dresses I was looking for but I found 2 more that I wanted to try.  Well, none of them worked, so we left.

We stopped at another bridal store that I'd passed before, nothing there that wasn't over $300, though there was one dress, wow it was beautiful, and if I was getting married and not doing a vow renewal I would have plunked down my ccard so fast.

Then we stopped at one last shop, I think it's more geared to proms and pageants (omg the bling) but they had a plus size section so we took a peek.  I pulled one dress that I though was going to be a joke, "Wow, look at this...wait LOOK at this" moment.  Tried it on, and yep - we have a winner!  And it was on sale for $50! Org $395!  I can tell it has been tried on a lot (one of the eye hooks was loose), but nothing a needle and thread couldn't handle (I'm a seamstress so no biggie).

Not at all what my vision was, I was thinking champagne colored satin or something, but this is perfect and H loves it!

  • Sometimes the day doesnt start out the way you were expecting, but ultimately it all works out.  Very pretty dress :)

I'm a whore for a good bargain, so naturally, I love it that you scored a great deal! I also love it that you pulled something to be silly, but ended up loving it. Congrats!

  • Well now I might be changing the dress (still keeping this one, though because well I and H love it).  We settled on a theme, Mardi Gras, H is from New Orleans; and the dress just doesn't lend itself to that kind of party.  Its really long, and I really can't walk it in.  I might still use it for the ceremony part then change to a shorter dress for the party part, because well I love to dance and don't want it to get stepped on...
  • That's awesome! If you decide to change, at least you only paid $50.00 so you can budget for another. Or you can wear it during the wedding and find a reception. I can't wait to go dress shopping on August 4th.
