Engagement Pictures

I was wondering when everyone got their engagement pictures taken? Our wedding is not until 9-8-12 but I wanted to have the pictures done this summer out at my grandpas farm while the wild floors were in bloom. Do you think thats to early?

The most important thing about engagement pictures is that they capture the two of you in the environment and with the style that YOU want. When you take them really doesn't matter. Just my $0.02.

Do it! We did ours an entire year in advance and they turned out amazing. I think it's completely reasonable to take them when the season is in bloom.

We are getting married next week, but we took our e-pics in January.  We would have taken them in November when the leaves were changing, but I had braces on and was waiting to get them off.

It's really up to you.  But I think 4-6 months out is pretty standard.

Our photographers suggested to get them done as soon as possible after you guys get engaged because that is when you are still "glowing" from it all and you haven't begun to have the stress of planning! We did our a couple of months after we got engaged and it's cool because it gave us enough time to plan and do some great things with the photos for the wedding.

We had been engaged and planning for a year and 5 months when we got our pictures taken.   I think it was a great way for us to get excited about our upcoming wedding and get back to being a couple.  It brought the glow back into our engagement.

We are also getting married 9-8-2012! and we are planning on doing them sometime this summer. I'm not a fall person so I want to do them before then and I'm too excited to wait until next summer. We got engaged 3 months ago and I would like the pictures to show us as now engaged not a year into it. Good luck in your planning!
