HELP! Picture Location Needed, Wedding Next Weekend!!!

Hey everyone,

Really hoping that you can help us out.  We're getting married in Brookfield and the reception will be downtown Milwaukee and we have nowhere for pictures yet in between!  We're looking for a park or a more natural setting, preferably with a bridge somewhere near either of the locations.

We've contemplated Elm Grove Village Park, Hubbard Park in Shorewood, The Shlitz Audobon Center and Lake Park.  If you have any experiences with these or other suggestions can you please share, please!?!

Pictures from the locations would be awesome too if you have them :)

Thanks so much in advance for your help :)

IThe Mitchell Domes offer a great location works even when the weahter is crappy too!

It is a bit pricey as the professional photography permit is $58 for the first hour + admission fees for all

If you go to any park in Milwaukee County you can find all the permit information here:

Wow, I had no idea you needed permits to take pictures at a park!
Is that true of all county parks or just the "reserved" ones?
So if we'd just show up somewhere, we'd be fine?

You'd have to call to find out for sure, but from what I understand is that technically in all Milwaukee County parks you need a permit for professional photography.

Whether or not you get that is really up to you and whether or not they check is probably dependent on the park you go to.  For example the Mitchell Domes you have to pay admission, so you know someone will be there checking.

Lake Park or Boerner Botanical Gardens, maybe - maybe not they are quite popular photography destinations that they might do random checks then again they might not care...I am not certain.  Lesser known parks or ones that are not as hot of a destination, you'd probably be fine at... but again, I am not certain.

We used Lake Park for wedding pictures and loved the location. You can see some of our pro pics in the blog link and non-pro pics in my bio. Great greenery and bridges. We also stole some shots at Lake Park Bistro and no one yelled at us! We didn't have a permit and didn't have any trouble.

I have to agree with Lake Park...it's got so many interesting areas and gorgeous bridges!
