having trouble finding good father/daughter and mother/son songs. Any suggestions?

We used "You are the Sunshine of my Life" by Stevie Wonder. He also does "Isn't she Lovely"

Also, have you asked your Dad, or your FI's Mom to see if they have any ideas?

I asked my dad to pick out the song. He came up with two that reminded him of me and I chose one of them. Neither were "typical" wedding songs - and I think they both were perfect for us since the meant something to us.

I'd talk to your dad--he might surprise you! I've heard stories from other girls that when they asked their dad, they found out he had a song in mind that he really wanted.

I had a few ideas, but brought it up with my dad to see if he had any input. He said he'd think on it, and a few days later he came to me and said he didn't like any of the "traditional" ones, and he was going to make a surprise mix song to give to the DJ, and I wouldn't get to hear it until our dance. This is SO unlike him and completely unexpected. I never would have thought he had that many ideas about it until I asked him.

I ended up googling like a fool and burnt my dad a cd for Father's Day and asked him to pick the song he liked best.

He chose My Little Girl by Tim Mcgraw

If this helps this is the list for the cd I did - some may not be your taste but my dad is in love with the Dominican and now getting into Latin music and I love Latin music but there is a wide variety on this list - HTH
