Anybody been to a reception @ Turner Hall Ballroom in MKE?

My sister is planning her wedding from out of state & loves Turner Hall. However, we're worried about the acoustics in the room, as it has huge high ceilings and hard wood floors.

Can anybody attest to the sound quality (is it TOO loud?) for a sit down reception & band?

Hi there- We had our reception there and the acoustics are fantastic actually! It used to not be so great but since they've started using the space as a concert venue, they've updated the sound system. I was concerned about it as well, but we were able to have the music at a great volume so that people near the bar or still sitting at tables could hold a conversation without shouting or getting a headache :)

I've been to a Wedding reception there and didn't notice any issues with the sound system or acoustics.  I think she'll be fine.

    Thanks so much!

*Kate&Michael* -- if you don't mind me bombarding you with questions:  how many guests attended your wedding? Did you have a band or DJ?

The info that the Turner people sent to my mom seems to have a lot of "extra" costs on top of the room rental. A room set up fee, a cleaning fee, a sound technician fee, etc. Was this what you experienced?

Lastly -- any general recommendations or things you would have changed looking back on the day?

    TIA :)
