Registry

Just started our registry at Bed, Bath and Beyond...holy crap there is a lot out there!! Where are you all registering? :-D

Re: Registry

  • We registered at Kohl's. And we are waiting to do one at Macy's.
  • FMIL is badgering us to register pronto. I think we're doing The Bay and Crate & Barrel.

  • I have no idea when we're going to start registering (maybe in the fall?). We're not having an engagement party, so there's no rush to register until my bridal shower gets closer.

That being said, I think we're going to do Crate & Barrel and Bloomingdales' for our registry.
  • I am dying to register but I think we'll wait until the fall. We don't have any wedding events coming up that we would need the registry for right away. I was thinking we'd do [maybe] BBB, Crate and Barrel, and Target.

  • I can't wait to register! We'll probably go sometime towards the end of August while my FI schedule isn't crazy. I want to register at BBB and Macy's (he told me to pick where I want to register and he will go with my choices)

  • We're probably doing BBB and Target. We probably won't register until fall though.

We started a registry at Sur La Table, which is a kitchen gadget store, very much like Williams Sonoma (they have free gifts just for registering, not for purchasing!) The scanner gun was tons of fun-- I wasn't planning on registering so early, but fiance was very excited to start.  We're also thinking bed, bath, and beyond and maybe Macy's.
  • We are probably doing Macy's and Williams Sonoma. My fiance is a chef, so the whole registry will basically be for him! :) We are also planning on doing a honeymoon fund through our travel agent. I know it's controversial, but we are both totally for it and think it's a cool idea.
  • We've got Amazon started, but may do Macys and William Sonoma also.

  • BBB and REI.  my mom left us almost every kitchen thing possible when she passed away (seriously, we even have a bread machine), but we need matching plates and silverware (lots got taken to school and never heard from again ;-) ).  We all love to camp and have a lot but registered for 'luxury' items like the folding table, mosquito net and solar powered camp lights.  registering is SO fun, i highly recommend it when the stress of menus becomes too much to bare!
  • when is appropriate to begin registering?
  • I think any time at this point would be a good time to at least begin. You don't have to have it completed now, just have it started :)
  • We registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond, Pottery Barn & Traveler's Joy.

    thank you, great advice!
  • @CaitlinValerie3 - no worries! And good luck! :)
  • Is 3 places too many? We will probably register in the next month or so, and will definitely do BBB & Macys, but I was thinking Kohls too. I don't want to make things to complicated for people!
  • We plan to do BB&B and Kohls. We wont start our registry until November or so though

  • We did ours right after we got engaged. We couldn't wait lol. We have one a BB&B and Target.
  • We're not registering because we're just having a super small destination wedding, like 12-16 guests.

If we were having a big wedding, though, I'd have done Williams-Sonoma because I really love to cook.

  • I don't think we're going to register because we both had houses before and already did the pick/choose who had the best XYZ so we really don't need anything.

I am going to think of a few things we might like in case people are asking for specific ideas (I can see some relatives asking my mom) but otherwise we will just see what people choose to give or not give.

As a guest I know I prefer a registry vs trying to figure something out or just give $$ but it seems silly to register for stuff we just don't need.
