I finally made it all the way through Gone with the Wind!

Without having to pause or stop or anything!

And then promptly fell asleep 15 minutes into Breakfast at Tiffany's...

What are you proud of right now?

  • I love both of those movies! I have a collector's edition copy of GWTW.

I'm proud that I planned a fabulous day for FI's bday yesterday, and he had a really great time :)

  • I thought you meant the book at first and I was very impressed that you did it with no breaks!

I love book & movie of GWTW.  My mom recently passed away and I now have her book which was my great grandmother's from 1939

  • Awesome! I've never actually seen the GWTW movie because I love the book so much! I've always been nervous to watch it.

  • I  love GWTW.      Another favorite is Casablanca.

I'm proud my dad's party over this past weekend was such a success.

  • @clarke10 - the movie is in many ways very different than the book; however, it is still very enjoyable.  Def worth the watch.

  • I'll get shamed for this, but so be it - I actually hate the movie GWTW. Absolutely looooved the book, so there's that, though.

I'm proud that I survived work conference from hell last week without killing any or myself (...barely).

And I want to hear more about your Dad's party, @lyndausvi!

  • I can not deal with GWTW. Maybe I'm in a phase where I just hate nearly all movie/book characters because I've been in a thing that just makes me like UGH EVERY CHARACTER IN THIS IS A DINK!!!!!!

  • I'm proud I managed to drag myself out of bed, put on clean clothes, and get to work without murdering any of the idiots driving in front of me. Small victories! lol

  • GWTW is my mom's favorite movie of all time. I've seen it a million times but I can't bring myself to watch it now because my mom has burnt me out on it.

Today I'm proud that I didn't  scream bloody murder when I came in the office and saw an opossum sitting in a cage by the front door. Apparently it is one of my co-workers pets and he was taking it to the vet.
  • I love GWTW, and Casablanca, we actually labelled our table at the reception after great love movies GWTW & Casablanca are just two of them. Today I'm not working :-) I picked up my dress and the marriage license this morning and in a little while we are heading over to the reception venue to drop off everything.

Dad's party was great.  He was so surprised and shocked.   The weather could not have been any better.   Clear blue skies and 75.     There were people from 14 different states at the party.  The BBQ was amazing.

My picture CPs were a huge hit.  People loved all the throwback pictures.   I bought a scrapbook stand.  After the party my nieces took all the pictures from the CP (about 90 of them - hand cut and double mounted by DH and me) and put them in the scrapbook stand.  My dad was so touched.

Dad is funny.   Not long after he arrived he says to me "I bought you a new terracotta soldier, don't forget to take it with you."      I just had to laugh.  In the middle of his party this is what came to his mind.   BS -   I was in China with my family back in the 90's and bought a terracotta soldier.  Well his head was decapitated.  I mentioned that to my dad a while back.  Well he remembered and took a side trip back to Xian to get me a new one.     He is just so sweet.

Mom and dad had their pool redone this winter.  We all knew that but they had some surprised for us.  They put in a great sundeck in the pool (basically a shelve with about 2-3 inches of water) with some chairs and 3 spots for umbrellas.  The also added LED lights and water fountains.  It really looked great.     They redid the decking around the pool and the tile does not get hot which is great.  They added a fire pit and a slab for the shuffleboard court.    All the changes were prefect for the party.

  • I am proud of myself for continuing to go to step class (and even surprised that I'm sad there is no class for the next 2 weeks). I'm also proud of continuing to work out to Jillian Michaels at home.

    So...GO ME!

    I also hate GWTW.

I am determined to finish the Gold Finch this weekend. This book is kicking my ass.

Me too. They would show GWTW it in class and I would fall asleep. I don't think I made it through the whole movie awake.

According to my Kindle, I am 74% done with the book.  How far along are you? I didn't realize how long it was until I started reading it.
