Wedding Band for Halo E-Ring

So I think I've decided on a wedding band to go with my ring.  The jackass designer at Helzberg told me the reason why they didn't have a band to go with it was because the trend is moving towards wearing just one ring again.  Whatevs.  All of the quotes we've gotten from stores for custom bands are just ridiculous.  I'm not thrilled about gaps, but this one isn't too terribly bad, and the reviews on Zales show this band with all types of different ring styles and it is pretty adaptable.

We found a ring at Zales that I like, and that I like even more now knowing the ridiculous costs of getting custom, lol.  I'm not going to solder, just because they are from different stores with different warranties and will probably need to be sent off separately for re-plating.  This is what it will look like!  :)

Re: Wedding Band for Halo E-Ring

  • Oh I like that! I have a halo e-ring as well, but smaller than yours and it sits up higher. FI wanted to make sure to get one that would sit high enough to have a regular band fit underneath it without a gap. I think for now I'm going to go with a solid white gold band (no diamonds) to keep our costs down and later on possibly upgrade to a half diamond eternity band.
  • FI had no clue how hard it would be to find a band - I think he was a little sad because he worked really hard to pick out this ring!  It's got really nice scroll work on the sides, which will be covered on this side with this band, but at least they won't be attached.  The scroll work on the other side won't be covered either.  :)

  • What would it cost to raise the profile of your e-ring so that a regular band would fit underneath?  That might be less expensive than a custom band.

  • That's an interesting question - one to take back to the jeweler!

  • That looks gorgeous! I don't plan on soldering my rings together, either. I like the idea of having options of wearing just the band or both. :)

  • Oh, how lovely!

I tried over 200 bands (no joke) before finding one that worked for my 3 stone halo ring. I ended up with a curved band on each side of the ring. There is a small gap but I don't notice it anymore.

  • Beautiful!

I lucked out, FI bought a e-ring/band set
  • My ring is a bezel set with a bit of metal work on either side.

I know that once we're married, I'm likely going to wear the wedding band solo most of the time.  I ended up picking a super simple white gold band with a milgrain edge because I don't have to worry about stones falling out and I can live in it.  Plus, growing up my Mom only ever wore her wedding ring because she didn't have an engagement ring- so it's just kind of what I'm used to.

There is going to be a gap between my e-ring and my wedding band, but it doesn't bother me.  I figured if it does, I will just wear my e-ring on my right hand.
