On the phone earlier, this conversation happened:

Mom: "Your dad and I were looking at your registry to try to decide on something to get you, but there wasn't a whole lot there. I told your father I would just wait to get you something until later."
Dad: "Why would you do that? Just get the towels you were gonna get."
Mom: "What if someone else who isn't as well off wants to get her a gift? I'll let them get the towels and give her the check she really wants and is too polite to ask for."

I love my mother.

  • You should share this in "Registering and Gifts" board. I was just over there and this would help those who might be inclined to make a cute poem to ask for cash!

My mom is going to wait until after all is said and done and help us do the completion on our registries. She's the bee's knees!
  • all my aunts and family members are telling us to skip the registry and just get cash because people are often more generous in cash than buying gifts haha *facepalm*

I am leaving my small registries open even though we have a ton of people and told my mom to tell people to browse the registries and decide what option suits them best
