So I had my first fitting last night - the first time I saw my dress since I bought it in October! It was a great experience. The seamstress is very seasoned and I trust in her ability.
Since I ordered the dress in October, I've lost a dress size and my dress swam on me last night. My goal weight would put me down another dress size. So here is the question.
My wedding is in mid-September. My next fitting is july 20th. The seamstress said she would not change the alterations quote she gave me for any weight that I lose between now and that fitting; however if I continue to lose significant weight after that fitting, she would have to readjust the price, since it would mean a second round of physical alterations for her (right now the dress is just pinned).
In your collective experience, do you think it's best that I push this next appointment out another 2 weeks? It won't be an issue with timing in terms of the seamstress being able to physically complete the alterations (will call to confirm this today), and it would give me some more time. I figure by August, I'll be in maintenance mode with my diet and there won't be any drastic alterations needed.
Can anyone think of any reasons I shouldn't push it out two weeks, as long as the shop confirms it won't be an issue in terms of their workload?
Thanks in advance everyone
