Thursday randoms

Five random thoughts...
1.  I just had leftover tacos for lunch.  They were delicious.

2.  Is there anything that you didn't like before your BF/FI/H that you now do?  For me, it's sour cream.  I wouldn't touch the stuff before him, but I just dolloped a crapton of it on my tacos.  I blame H.

3.  My first car was a Pontiac Grand Am.  It is turning 18 this year (next month) and my mom still drives it.  I'm not even sure it has 100,000 miles on it (I gave it to my mom in 2007 and it had 70,000 miles on it.  She only drives it around town)

4.  I got mango pomegranate greek yogurt at Publix today.  Also brown sugar pear.  And I just think these are really like "fancy" flavors for...yogurt.  I remember when my favorite yogurt was "peach".  Probably because it still is.  But Peach is NORMAL, guys.

5.  We are seeing two houses after H gets off of work today.  I hope we like them.  We've been striking out in neighborhoods lately.  Or yards (we need a big one so we can fit a workshop OR we need a ginormous garage, like...approaching 4 car garage size.  Needless to say, the yard is slightly easier to find, although we're seeing a house with a ginormous garage today.)

BONUS #6) I watch Family Guy all the time.  I'm kinda disgusted by myself but I can't help it.  I like the Simpsons better, but the simpsons isn't on reruns constantly.
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton

So many things! I was a pretty picky eater before BF but he always encourages me to try new things. Probably the biggest thing is Avocado and Hummus. I love both of those now and want to put them on everything!

I brought avocado and hummus into H's life.  I personally think sharing our food experiences is the highlight of our relationship most of the time.  I love food, lol

I never liked spicy food or barbecue sauce until I met my FI, his mom cooks everything with spice, and makes the most amazing bbq ribs!

ETA: Obviously, since we started dating when we were 16 a lot of our meals were at his house while living with his mom.

    1. I'm about to take my third round of ibuprofen this morning.... I hate period headaches!!!

    2. I had never eaten tacos or pierogies before my SO started wanting to do theme dinners - now they'e both in regular rotation - - plus they're easy!

    3. My first car was a 1991 ford escort, which my parents sold when my sister went to college.  They claim to have seen it around recently, but I never did again.  My ex still regularly drove his 1991 ford escort until at least last year!

    4. I need to go grocery shopping today, but more importantly it's way past time to get my nails done!

    5.  I watch TLC almost exclusively lately, and I had a dream last night that I was at a party with all of the stars of their reality shows - but I was so upset because I couldn't get a wifi connection to post that info on facebook!  Oh, and I had a tick behind my ear that my mom wanted to pull out but I insisted we needed special tweezers.

I just had a dream the other night that I had a woodtick embedded in my wrist... ugh I woke up and had to feel my wrist to confirm it wasn't there!!

@Kelani23 lol, I always prioritize grocery shopping (food) over getting my nails done.  My bestie would totally prioritize her nails first though.

@BreMR at my ex's parents' house, I was the ONLY ONE THAT ATE VEGETABLES.  His mom would always make "salad" that was just lettuce....and basically I would be the only one that ate it.  When we had fajitas, his brother would just eat the fajita wrap and meat and cheese.  How can one live without vegetables? lol - so yes I totally understand eating at your BF's parents' house a lot :)  Heck, my H and I still eat at our parents' houses whenever we go home.  They live a mile apart so we call both of them to see who is having the better dinner on the regular lol (don't worry, this usually ends up in an equal spending of time with both sets of parents)

Unfortunately I have a job where I often do find ticks on myself :-(  Never engorged though, like the one in my dream, which was more like the one I pulled off Kelani's ear about a month ago - - with the "special tweezers"! lol

@Kelani23 I am basically terrified of ticks.  H and I always check each other for ticks if we've been in an area that could possibly have them, lol.  I'd hate to be our kids - we're paranoid.

Ugh, me too!! They are SO BAD around here - I think the first time I found them this year was early March!!  I was driving and one was crawling on my face!  Then later I pulled one off my arm while driving in the dark, so I never saw the bastard.

The crazy thing is that I've been treated for Lyme disease three times before I started finding them regularly in the last couple years!

My worst fear is that they are hiding somewhere I can't see like my hair.

I wish I could wear a tick collar now like my dogs!!!!!!

It is kind of crazy they don't make some sort of tick repellent for people! Ticks are easily my top two most feared bugs. My daughter had one stuck in her last summer and I got a call from daycare saying "We aren't allowed to remove them, can you come and take it out?" I had to bring my coworker, because I knew I couldn't do it!!

@swazzle @goldenpenguin (there are probably others) I am watching PLL.  semi-spoiler to those that haven't gotten this far: How many years was Allison missing?? (it's in white font..)

I really only missed like half a season but things have changed quite a bit, but now I'm roped into this season.  I imagine I should go back and will eventually.  It's such a weird interesting twist to the show though.

@Kelani23 I'm still scarred for life from the House MD episode where the girl was like DYING of lyme disease because no one knew she had a tick in her crotch region from when she fooled around with her boyfriend who brought the tick in or something ridiculously outrageous.

Why aren't they allowed to remove them? That seems odd.

@bethsmiles maybe some sort of liability issue if they don't get the whole thing or something?  In my retail job, we sell phone cards and we aren't allowed to help load them onto people's phones because we don't want to be held liable if we break the phone/load it wrong/etc.

@Blue & White, I never saw that House, but I don't doubt it, it's horrible and debilitating SOMETIMES, but since some people just get over it quickly, it's not recognized as being very bad at all usually.  I think I have the chronic kind, but I only ever test "slightly positive," it's very frustrating.

Also I just saw the post about nails - I REALLY only need milk and bread, and possibly some fruit, but my nails are just atrocious, it's been almost a month since I got my acrylics!  SO likes me to scratch his back and I'm like "I can't, it hurts, my nail might fall off!!!"  Since I got them done on vacation, I don't really have a place here and I'm putting off trying one :-P

    SITB:
Skim Milk. I hated it because to me it just tasted like water mixed with a little bit of milk. I like my 2% but FI only drink skim so I got use to it and now I don't mind it.

I can't think of really anything else. But theres a lot of things FI didn't like before we were together that he now likes.  He was (and still is) a picky eater.  He never had biscuits and gravy before because he thought they looked gross so I made them one night for dinner and now he loves them.  He never had fajitas before he and I lived together, now he loves them. And last weekend I FINALLY got him to try a turkey burger (since he doesnt eat red meat and doesnt like the texture of grilled chicken) and he loved it! yay!

BF is a super picky eater, so I've introduced him to veggies. The problem with him though is he has no sense of smell, which affects his sense of taste as well. He relies on texture, and he can't stand the texture of most veggies. All I've been able to get him to eat is peas, carrots, and corn.

@weewittlewizabeth yea, the texture of some veggies might throw me off if I couldn't taste them as well.  peas, carrots, and corn is a good start!  Especially corn on the cob - nom nom nom

@severmilli12 I still hate skim milk :) and sausage gravy looks revolting, but I mean...it has sausage so that's always good :)

    1. mmmmm.....tacos

    2. I don't know if there's anything new H had gotten me hooked on. At least I can't think of anything food-wise. We both got started on snorkeling after we met though.

    3. My first car was a red Geo Tracker with a black soft top. I would still have that car if it was running. Awesome college vehicle...especially on a hot summer day!

    4. When I see "Publix" I always think of pubic hair and it grosses me out. We don't have that store here and I've never been in one...but the word is just odd to me.

    5. I hope one of your upcoming home tours is a WINNER!

    6. I'm not into Family Guy or the Simpsons. I am hooked on Scandal though...just started watching the 3rd season on Netflix last night!

    1. I just had a cookie at lunch and it had caramel and chocolate chips in it and it was soooo good! I also ate pasta so my lunch was very bad but I was about to go crazy so it was needed lol.

    2. Maddux apparently has been a sleepy pup all day so that means we have a full evening of running around and letting him expend some energy while we clean our old apartment at the same time. This should be fun.

    3. Today feels like Friday.

    4. The lady sitting next to me literally has to always say something whenever I walk back to my desk and I'm tired of talking to her. I'm being rude but sometimes I just don't want to talk to her.

    5. I really needed to go to Hobby Lobby today but I went to lunch with @LaPeanut1018 and our mom instead.

H introduced me to mango, and now I love the yellow mangoes when they are in season!  he eats okra (whole, grilled... not fried) and brussels sprouts now.

I guess I can do more randoms. :)

    1. Probably TMI: I started making tortilla wraps with a spinach tortilla instead of sammiches with wheat bread recently. They're really good, but uh, I can tell there's a lot more fiber in my system now. There's only one ladies room at work, so I constantly have to try and wait to go when no one's in there.

    2. I'm still driving my car from high school! 2003 Honda Civic. It's only got 110,000 miles on it, but it's starting to need more and more work. Something funky happened with the radio too when my battery died last week. It's not working anymore and asking for a code. At some point I'll need to figure out what that's all about... just hoping it doesn't cost more money.

    3. I need to get my nails redone too. I guess I'll call and schedule an appointment for tomorrow after work. I found a place nearby that's really highly rated on Yelp and offers a $23 gel mani for first-time customers. Woot!

    4. Pretty sure I'm gonna have T-Rex arms by the end of the day. My workout last night involved a lot of weight lifting, and my poor arms are suffering today. Methinks I have a date with an epsom salt bath tonight. :)

    5. I have been ridiculously lazy with housework this month. I haven't folded clean clothes in a while, so the dryer has now become my closet. Oops. Motivation, where art thou?

@Blue&White - I take it you are house hunting because the owner on the one that over appraised wouldn't come down?  I'm sorry if that is the case.  I know how frustrating the process is.

H didn't really introduce me to any foods but he did inspire me to cook more (I actually really enjoy it but I had no one to cook for but myself).

-Random Irrational Fear of the Day: Our dog has a vet appointment (ear infection) and I'm worried the vet will find something else wrong with him.  He's only 4 but he's a breed that usually only lives to age 10 and he has slowed down a LOT lately.  I'm just paranoid about my baby.

    1. I have an interview tomorrow and I really hope I get the position.

    2. FI took the day off today.  He texted me a little bit ago to tell me that he had already done 2 loads of laundry, the dishes, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned the living room, and was getting ready to head to the bank to deposit money into our wedding account. Umm, have I mentioned that he is theee best? :)

    3. I can't wait to go home and eat one of my Skinny Cow icecream sandwiches...with chocolate icecream. Ugh they are so good.

    4. A lady next to me is talking about donating plasma. I can't handle this conversation and I'm about to pass out.

    5. My hair is not my friend today.

@southernpeach89 wait, Hobby Lobby can be a NEED now? :)  I NEED to remember that in the future, haha.  Also, I love pasta.  I could live on pasta.  I also think all the pastas taste differently, like...linguine and angel hair - TOTALLY DIFFERENT, GUYS.  H thinks I'm nuts but it's because he did not have as much pasta growing up as I did - his dad doesn't like SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS.  There is something wrong there.

@allusive007 I call Publix "pubs" for short - like the bar type of pub, NOT like pubic hair pubes, lol.  But really, if you ever go to [a good] Publix, you will be a convert for life.  There are a few lame Publixes in weird parts of towns, but really that's an issue with the clientele, not Publix.  I could literally eat all Publix brand for an entire week - I don't.  But I could.  I'm currently eating Publix Papaya Passion Fruit Greek Yogurt, lol.

@cocobellaf I don't know if this is a real thing, but have you heard of mango mouth?!  It's like..poison ivy from mangoes because supposedly they're part of the same family of plants?  <--I saw this on facebook, so obviously you should google the veracity first. lol  I love mangoes though, so this doesn't stop me.

@weewittlewizabeth I take fiber supplements every morning to keep myself regular.  And probiotics at night.  You mustn't be skittish to talk to me about poop.  In other news, the code for your car was given to you when you bought the car (if you bought it new).  It's on a little white card.  You might be able to go to the dealership and have them look it up for you (I'm not sure) but I have my card in my wallet because the guy told me to put it there.  The radio resets whenever it loses power to prevent thefts.  I may or may not have a 2007 honda civic :)

@minskat30 yep, the seller wouldn't come down on the price. So the house is back on the market, and so are we. Just hope our refund of our escrow money comes relatively quickly... @severmilli12 the best part of passing out in public? All the random people that think you have to go to the hospital IMMEDIATELY cause OMG she passed out. I may have done this once or twice because of dumb people talking about donating plasma, getting blood poisoning at work (this happened at a doctor's office so I passed out in the waiting room..), etc.
