Anyone wear fake eyelashes on the reg?

I got a pack of short single lashes and they are so pretty! I have worn them every day just for fun, but most likely I'll only put them on for fancy occasions. I like how natural they look. I used to wear the non-natural all the time to costume parties. ha!

  • I do the individuals sometimes.  It's pretty easy and they look awesome.  I can't do full strips though.

  • I use to wear the full strip kind and looooooooooved the way they looked. I got lazy and stopped wearing them tho. Are the individuals easier than the strips @grumbledore?

  • I do. Everyday. My natural lashes are very thin. I buy them from dollar general, and they're very natural looking.

Easy at the end of the night too. Pull em off and makeups gone!
  • Ya'll are super talented and have more self control than me. I have tried to wear those about 5 times and I can't handle it. They feel awful and look fake. I mean I can see them sitting on top of my eyelid/lashes. Nope nope nope. Once I had an actual make up artist do them for me. But she just cut an edge of the end of some and put them just on the edge of my eyelashes. Those looked smokin. I could never do it myself though.

  • I do the individuals as well. It took a few practices till I was good at it, but I find it much easier than a full strip.
(If I do a full strip, my daughter puts them on for me. She used to work for MAC, so she's like a freakishly fast false eyelash installer.)
  • I've never worn fake lashes before. I had a friend who used to wear them and always thought they looked sooo pretty on her, then once at a dinner party the glue (?) gave way and she had a nice, black caterpillar on her cheek while socializing/making jokes. It has terrified me enough not to try them ever since. I'd like them for my wedding but I keep imagining saying my vows and one of them coming off lol

  • I do full strips sometimes for fancy events.  I've never tried the individual ones-- but maybe I will!

    What brands do you use?

I think they are because you have a lot more room for error

  • I've always wanted to (I have very long, quite full lashes, but they're stick straight) but I shake far too much to put them on myself, and salons charge way too much for me to even think of getting them done professionally for anything less than my wedding. Even then, I'm not sure I will. I guess I'm stuck with the old curler-mascara combo. I've only tried the strips though, and I cannot for the life of me get them to sit properly. I always figured the individuals would be more difficult...

  • You know, I never even considered it until my makeup trial a couple weeks ago.  The woman doing it asked if I wanted them and I just kind of said sure, let's see what they look like, this is probably the only time I'll ever do it.

Holy cow, they made SUCH a different!. I have pretty small eyes (to the point where people have asked if I'm Asian) and the lashes just opened them up SO much!  I'm thinking about getting some to keep on hand for fancy times!

Also, @KatieinBkln--I let out a very unattractive snort laugh at my desk.  So thank you for that.

  • I have tremors in my hands, so the strip ones kick my ass when I try to wear them.  I need to experiment more with the individuals I think.

  • I use the cheap Ardells for individuals. If you go to the MAC counter for full strips, they put them on for you.

I use this cheap one from CVS called Ardell. I cut some of them even shorted to get a even more natural look.

I think I did a good job today? I have embarassingly thin eyelashes

Thanks, I'll check it out.  Cheap is good.  They look great on you-- and hi there, freckle friend!

  • Those look AMAZING! They are so soft and natural looking. Honestly when I've done them, I look like the lady in that sad pathetic picture you posted. I actually am kind of a mascara freak. I have about 25 mascaras in my stash. But my favorite is this stuff called Younique and it has those little floofy fibers. I have almost no eyelashes and I refuse to do latisse, so this actually gives me eyelashes.

  • Sort of? I wear them Wed-Sun for performances, and once they're on, I usually just leave them on the rest of the day or night, depending on what I'm up to. I actually really like the super cheap e.l.f. ones for a buck!

I will definitely be wearing them for the wedding- full strip, but the most dainty ones I can find.

I only wore fake eyelashes once, when I was a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding.  They were the kind that are just for the outer half of each lash, but holy fuck I loved the way they looked.  I would love to wear them more often, but I work from home and rarely go out.  I will most definitely be wearing them for our wedding though!

  • I wear falsies semi-regularly. I'm actually about to start trimming a pair that I recently bought to fit my eye shape. Those look gorgeous on your eye! Striking, but not over the top.

  • I like them for performances. I don't need them on a daily basis-- my natural lashes are long enough that I get mascara on my glasses if I put them back on while it's wet.

  • As the picture shows, I am way too addicted to liner, so I can't seem to apply fake lashes right.

I wear thick liner too! I like doing the whole cat eye pinup thing

  • Yeah, IRL it actually looks really good, trying to take an eye selfie means I look goofy. But, heh, here's my lashes after washing everything off. Ick. I need something on.

Me being creepy: You have the prettiest eyeball!!

And the lashes look real. Good job. I wanna try.
  • I hate the way they feel. I cannot have stuff touching my eyes for extended periods of time. It's why I don't wear contacts.

Thank  you! I only put medium length single lashes, like two or three, on the outer part. It makes them look more natural. I trim the one closest to the center of my eye a bit.

  • I'm going to have to try some. How do you wear them with liner and mascara since yeah, I need those.
