Finally finished! AW-ish

Finally finished the invitations- not nearly as impressive as Lolo's- I'm still envying her moire paper- but good enough, and done!
My favorite thing is the response postcards, which are copies of a 1909 postcard that shows the venue location.
My other favorite thing is being finished. It's post office time!

  • Oh wow, I love these! I'm not even close to the invitation chosing/making stage, but these pics are so pretty I might actually be looking forward to it. :)

  • I'm super impressed. For what it's worth, I've never been invited to a wedding with invitations as nice as yours or @lolo883 's.

  • Oh, thanks so much! You guys are great. I feel better, now. I live in fear of making things that are Joann Fabrics looking. I mean, I'll buy things there, but it's damning when I think, well. That's very Joann's, isn't it? So if I'm not Joann's looking, I'm happy. Because then I'd have to start wearing Dockers and drive a mini van and join the PTA, and these things can't happen to me.

(And Lolo- note that I was not allowed to use lace. Or jewels. Not that I'm bitter. Just a little sulky.)
  • Those are FABULOUS and I love the little... medallion thingies. (I don't know what to call them but I know that I COVET THEM)

  • I'm sad for you that you didn't get to use lace. And ragey at anyone turning their nose up at gorgeous lace when I am driving myself absolutely batshit crazy trying and failing to find the perfect lace to edge my veil. APPRECIATE THE LACE, DAMMIT! :-p

  • Love them!  I'm so envious of you crafty ladies and can't wait to see what the rest of your weddings look like!

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

I'm not sure... I've scoured the interwebs. Part of the problem is I originally wanted to use antique lace and have it be my "something old"... and I found the perfect piece and ordered it but it got sent to my old address; seller was super shifty in not getting back to me on time to change it/track it down. USPS tracking marked it as delivered but insist they wouldn't have delivered it, and would have put into the forwarding stream per my existing mail forward. But once it goes there, there's "no tracking or expectation of delivery." I talked to the new tenant and he said he never got it. So... now I'm out $85 bucks and don't want to spend a heck of a lot when I had initially turned my nose up at the $200 veil at the salon and swore I could do it cheaper. :(

  • @lolo883 Do you know anyone's you could borrow? My friend had a gorgeous veil with the thick lace edges that get worn in front of your shoulders. She paid $250 and was going to let me borrow it but unfortunately it's white and my dress is ivory. I'm sure you could use something else as your "old". I'm wearing a diamond bracelet my mom gave me for high school graduation gift as mine. Hey 10 years is old. lol

All my friends and family wore white, and my dress is champagne and ivory.

I always thought I'd wear something of my grandma's (she had a TON of jewelry) but my dirtbag uncle pawned it all while squatting in her condo, when she was in a nursing home and he was being investigated for fraud. I'm sure I'll find something. It's just frustrating!

Lolo I got my gorgeous gorgeous veil for half off when I bought my wedding dress and it was originally $338 +tax! I mean, what the darn F, but it has French chantilly lace halfway around it and it's sooooooo beautiful. It's an Erica Koesler veil if you ever wanna check online!

  • Those are great invitations, so pretty!
  • Pretty! Kinda makes me wish I gave a shit about mine and didn't buy them on clearance at target but hey! More money for food! LOL
  • Thanks, ladies! And truth? They ended up at a grand total of about 40 cents each. And a headache or two. But those are free.
