Beach honeymoon in Philippines

My husband and I will visit his parents in Philippines in couple of weeks. They will treat us in this resort in Boracay for our honeymoon. Do you guys have any suggestion about other resort/hotel there? We wanted to collect couple of advice first before booking. Any suggestion/advice is appreciated!

Yes!  The US state Department currently has a travel warning for the Phillippines.

Boracay is quite touristy but the Shangri-La there is very nice and a bit away from the hectic resorts. 

Don't worry about travel warnings as it is perfectly safe on the largely populated tourist islands, just be careful like you normally would when travelling internationally.  If you still want to go to SE asia but are worried about any issues, go for the islands of Southern Thailand.

What is your budget? 

There is an amazing resort on a private island off the Phlippines - called Amanpulo - if you can swing it. If it's nothing near that high - then maybe you can go check out Cebu as well.
