backless gown help!

Hi Ladies,

I bought a backless gown that cannot have cups sew in because of the cut of the dress. It has lace side coverage. I am  a bra size 28F, so not huge but big enough. Can anyone help me with a miracle product that won't be seen that comes bigger than a D cup?

  • I'm a C, so if my advice won't work for you, feel free to disregard... most lingerie stores sell sticky bras that might work. I don't think they're going to make your boobs look two cup sizes smaller, but you have a difficult situation with your backless dress choice so you might have to compromise.

  • Have you talked to your seamstress about any options you may have?  Do you have a picture of the back of your dress?

  • the lingerie stores around me don't have anything over a 32D for anything sticky. And my seastress wont sew anything into the lining of my dress as it is a loose satin.

This computer wouldn't let me copy and paste the picture. Hope you can see it. The satin inside layer comes lower on me as I am 5'2, its almost to the small of my back.
  • That dress is very similar to mine and they are sewing cups into mine...not sure why they're telling you that's not an option.

  • I would check with a different seamstress.

this is probably not the best option, but have you tried the dress on with a bra that has a clear back strap?  There is a chance the lace will cover it up enough that people will not notice.

  • I would get a second opinion. From the picture, I see no problem of sewing in cups. Also, a low back longline bra.

  • the inside fabric is a very light weight silk, they won't sew cups into it b/c a) it would bunch the fabric in a weird way and b) would purely sit on top of my boobs doing nothing. Just the way the fabric lays. There is absoluely no structure to the dress, I've asked 4 different seamstresses and get the same answer as soon as they see how it fits me.
