Spring colors and bridesmaid dresses

We are getting married next spring at a beautiful, outdoor vineyard setting. While thinking about the venue and browsing Pinterest I'm attracted to a very neutral pallet- all white flowers (maybe peonies and baby's breath) cream or ivory linens and bridesmaid dresses. Maybe guys in grey? Very clean, light and romantic feeling- I think our venue is so beautiful that we don't need to over do it. But I also don't want to be boring. My bridesmaids think I need some sort of accent color... But I really don't want to get into any pinks, which is the direction I see many go on Pinterest. Opinions? Ideas? Anything is helpful:)

Re: Spring colors and bridesmaid dresses

  • Your color palette is 100% up to you and your FI. Only include an accent color if you want to.

That said, if you decide to include one and you don't like the pink route, what about green - you could play off the natural surroundings of the vineyard? Or pale yellow - kind of a spring color? If you don't want in-your-face color, you could still have your BMs in neutrals and just add the splash of color via flowers.

Here's a good place to start exploring outside Pinterest:

  • You can go with any color. What about a light green as an accent color. You can add a little green to the white flowers for a little contrast. Even if it's just some leaves on the sides.

You could keep everything neutral (which can be very nice, IMO), such as beige:

    Ivory:

Or you could add some more colour.  Perhaps light pastels:

Or maybe you and your FI could pick a colour you both like and just go with it.  Almost any colour goes with neutrals, so it's up to you.

  • I wanted light grey bridesmaid dresses and charcoal groomsmen. Everyone gave me a hard time. I initially wanted all white flowers but eventually caved and went with white and dark purple flowers. The groomsmen wore dark purple ties. I think it looked fantastic.
  • I think any really light shades would work to compliment without being too contrasting (which seems to be the soft look you're going for).  What about a blush (think more peach than pink), or a light purple/lavender?
  • I agree with PPs.  I'm also getting married in the spring, and am doing BM in lilac with all white bouquets (hydrangea and roses), GM in grey tuxes (lilac vests/ties).

You can definitely stick with what you're envisioning, and you don't need an accent color.  What really helped me was getting off of Pinterest, it got way too overwhelming.

  • If you *want* to add a pop of color and don't want to go pink, I'm with the girls who are suggesting greens! What about this soft blue/green/gray shade. (I believe it's "icelandic".)
