Dress is a little too pricey,Anyone know any that are similar?

I found my perfect dress today. Seriously, it's so beautiful. Everything Ive always wanted in a dress. Ethereal, romantic and most importantly, it actually looks good on me. 

However, it's 1800 and it's a little outside my price range for a dress that I'm only going to wear once. My mother is paying for it but I still can't imagine shelling that much dough out for a dress I'm only going to wear one time, even if it is THE perfect dress of all time. 

It is Sottero and Midgley, Anastasia gown. 

It's the one in the middle.

Have you looked for it used?  That could bring it down into a more comfortable price range.  Also, check to see if this designer will be having any trunk shows.  Sometimes, that will give you an extra percentage off on their gowns.

If you'd be OK with only lace on the top half of the dress ending at the belt, you should look into getting a simple strapless sweetheart neckline dress, then a lace overlay top piece with sleeves. Most bridal salons have a variety of different lace overlay tops--I'm sure you can find one with long sleeves.

I agree with this. A co-worker bought a relatively inexpensive gown and is having some kind of lace sleeves/bolero top made to go over it. She showed me an example of what she was having done, and it was gorgeous. It was kind of similar to the bottom right image.

That is a really smart alternative. Maybe I will do that, I could even find a dress that had some lace on the bottom (which I really want) and buy an overlay or something for the top. My mother actually knows a woman who makes lace. She wants to make my veil for free! (Although we probably will give her something anyway) but maybe she could make something for me (paid of course) that is closer to the dress I want.

You could also call salons in your area and find out when they might be having a sample sale. I bought my dress at one for $800 off and it was in mint condition. You could also ask the salon flat out if they would consider selling the sample - never hurts to ask!

I went to a whole bunch of used sites and I can't find it anywhere! I think it's brand new and it looks like no one is selling it yet.

My mother is going to ask if we can buy the sample because it fit almost perfectly but since it's new I don't know if they will want to do that.  My mom got my sister's dress almost the same way though, it was her dream dress and she got it down 75 percent because although it was my sister's chosen color, it wasn't the rest of the worlds. So the unpopular color (which was a golden hue) of a popular dress got marked down to 600. I will cross my fingers that she is lucky this time too.

And thank you so much Doeydo, I already like some of the dresses you posted and I feel better now that I will find an alternate I like if I can't have this one. I hate that my mind (even though I always told myself I wouldn't do this) wants to just say screw it and spend an unreasonable amount (for me) on a dress.
