Destination Wedding - Reception Invitations Question

My fiance and I have decided to go to Cancun to get married with just his best man and my maid of honor. When we return, we plan on having a reception for all of our friends and families. We were wanting to know what would be the best way to word the invitations to our reception (after we return from our wedding that no one was invited to), and when would be the best time to send them out?

    Unfortunately I can't help you with this, I have no idea.  BUT, I would suggest you also post this on the "etiquette" page.  You will probably get a few more answers because more people seem to look at that board. :-)

    You'd want to send them out at the same time you normally would for an event. About 4-6 weeks before the celebration.

    As for the wording:

    A and B
    are pleased to announce
    that they will be married
    in a private ceremony
    on Saturday, the ninth of June
    Two thousand and ten

    Please join us as we celebrate
    when we return as husband and wife
    on Friday, the twenty-first of June
    at six-thirty in the evening
