Bridesmaid dresses from ETSY.com?

Has anyone purchased a custom dress from this site? They seem to have a lot of designers that make pretty dresses, I'm just concerned that it may be sketchy??

Re: Bridesmaid dresses from ETSY.com?

  • Etsy has great stuff. One of my friends bought her wedding gown on etsy. Just read the reviews to be sure the seller is legit.

  •  Etsy is a similar type of site as Ebay, with different sellers/companies, selling things from the Etsy site. Etsy itself is legit, but your best bet is to read the reviews of the seller/company you're looking to purchase dresses from. (As mentioned above). I've purchased from the Etsy site, and didn't have an issue, but it's seller/company dependant.

  • I would make sure that the seller is from the US, but know that these dresses might cost you a lot since they are generally hand made.

For what it's worth, the best wedding decision I made was telling my ladies knee length and navy. They chose their price and style and everyone was happy. They both looked stunning.
  • On Etsy, if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is. It is not a site for discount goods, rather it is a place where you can support people selling handmade goods. There are many Chinese sweatshops that abuse the site, so if anything is shipping from China or the descriptions are written in broken English, then run in the opposite direction. If you are looking for something unique or handmade, then you can find real gems on Etsy. If you are looking for a deal, then go to David's Bridal.
