COMPANY AT THE CELEBRATION OF THEIR
MARRIAGE

Saturday, the fourth of October
TWO THOUSAND AND FOURTEEN
AT FOUR O'CLOCK IN THE AFTERNOON

### ROADNAME ROAD

RECEPTION TO FOLLOW

I wrote most of this in caps because that's the way it is on the invitation - it doesn't look as strange though because of the font. The lines that are not in caps are a larger, bold and italicized font. Also, should the wording be "celebration of their marriage" or "celebration of their wedding"? The template I used said celebration of their wedding, but I changed it to marriage. Now I'm second guessing it, though. Thanks!

I highlighted what should be capitalized. Nothing else should be capitalized even if it looks ok with the font.

The bride's name goes before the groom's. Keep the venue name, but if you are having an info insert I would save the street address for the insert (more formal). If you're not having an info insert and you think people will need the street address to find the venue, I think it's fine to keep it. Spell out the name of the state (vs. "PA"). I fixed a couple of things according to what should be on which line.

ETA: "in the afternoon" isn't necessary. No one is going to think you're having a wedding at 4 in the morning. :)

  • To add what southernbelle stated, you should also remove the "and" in the year.

It is two thousand fourteen NOT two thousand and fourteen.

As far as the caps go.  I have seen many an invite use all caps so I really don't see a problem with it.

  • Never use initials on an invitation.  Yoour names should be spelled out in full.  The ampersand is only permitted iif it is an integral part of the invitation design.  Otherwise, spell out "and".  The state name must be written out in full.
