These wedding shows are an addiction!

These shows like 4 Weddings and Say Yes To the Dress are an addiction. I never watch things like this but my mom does, she lives for anything on these channels (even before I was doing the vow renewal, she loves Dog Whisperer, Property Bros...). So I accidentally got roped into watching a 4 Weddings. Now I'm hooked. I feel like it's a dirty secret or something but it's totally not a secret. I even try to get my boys (6 and 9) to sit and watch with me and they humor me to a point. They like SYTTD because it moves faster and they'll say "Um, I don't really like that dress with the weird feathers can I go now." and things like that. I could watch these shows all day long. Do you have a favorite?

  • I really love SYTTD: Atlanta and SYTTD: Big Bliss. I'm a fashion addict.

  • I love all those shows. Luckily we don't get those channels on cable or else I would never get anything done.

  • I have them on Netflix. Eeek.

Oh lord, I love them all.

  • I used them before we shopped for daughter's dress.  Afterwards, I was more aware of the artificialness of the program, and stopped watching it.  When Randy promoted a wedding dress for a PPD, that disgusted me.  It is all about $$$$.

  • I use to watch Platinum weddings when i got married.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

I can take or leave SYTTD, but GIVE ME FOUR WEDDINGS ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!

  • I used to watch all the wedding shows, but I lost interest in most of them after I got married, except Bridezillas. I watched every damned season of that train wreck from beginning to end. Occasionally I will watch Four Weddings, but I absolutely can't stand Say Yes to the Dress anymore.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

Well seeing as they are a business and the consultants work off commission, then yeah, it is all about money for them. This is not a shocker.

  • I can't stand Four Weddings.  I do love I Found the Gown and wish I had known about that store when I bought my dress.  I would have definitely made a trip up north to go shopping.  I also prefer SYTTD: Atlanta over the original.  I just like the consultants better.  Some of the consultants in NYC annoy me especially when they pull dresses more then the brides budget "just to see."

  • I love bridezillas.

Bridezillas is a personal checklist of what I do not want to think/feel/act like.

  • My mom is a Momzilla and I'm like "WTF this isn't even a wedding you are overdoing it, you are a freak." The other day were in a craft store and she was riding me about wearing a "veil" which she says isn't a veil because it's "just some tulle under your hairdo in the back." Um yeah mom, that's still a veil. It might not be a blusher but it is still a veil. The conversation ended with her saying "Well, it's not a veil so we're definitely doing that." She's gonna be SO disappointed when this day comes and she thinks I am drug storing this thing.
