AW: I GOT TO PEE IN A CUP TODAY

Haha.  So, I asked y'all for some interview advice in February for a job that I applied for back in December.  Thanks to you lovely ladies, I ended up getting a conditional job offer after my second interview (in May).  Well, they've FINALLY completed all their "checks" and I finally got to go in and take my drug test today!  Results will be back sometime next week and with any luck I will be *finally* starting August 1st!  I've never been so excited to get up early, drive an hour, and pee in a cup in front of another person in my entire life.

When you pee in cup in front of another person do you have to lady-scape to the level you would for the lady-doc, go get a full beach vacay waxing or can you just go as you are?? I'm not sure of the etiquette on this situation....

Wait do they actually make you do it in front of a person like a criminal? They've always just sent me into the ladies room to do my business like a regular grown-up.

Either way, YAY congrats! That's super exciting!

Depends on the place.  My husband is in the military, he gets watched.  When I've had to take drug tests they just sent me into single person bathroom and I had to leave my purse and any bags outside.  And the one didn't have a sink in it, I guess to prevent you from trying to dilute the sample.

I've never had to pee in front of anyone. Just me in restroom with no sink, not allowed to take anything in with me.

Same here. And they knock on the door if it takes too long. Yo, stage fright.

Yup - in the Army you get watched, and sometimes you are the watcher if you have been voluntold to go to the training and be on "the team."  Please don't ask how many times I was on "the team."

My friend was on the team  and watched a girl pee in a cup.  Said girl then tried to scoop up toilet water in the cup to dilute her urine.  It was kinda funny asking her to explain why her sample bottle was stone cold when everyone else's was warm.  yeah, she is no longer in the military.

I've never been watched before.   Just had a pat down and not be able to take anything in the room with you.

Now one time I had to wait 45+ minutes to take the test.  I had to pee so bad I went in, peed and......FLUSHED THE FUCKING TOLIET!

Had to take the test again later that day.

Thanks everybody! I'm totally psyched to finally get started on this career path. It's more than I've ever made anywhere else, optional extra trainings/certifications, upward mobility, cushy benefits, and the second highest pay scale and pension package in our state! Plus its ~unionized~ so if FI and I can move anywhere in the state I don't have to completely start over! (FI works for a company that's all over the MW & SW US which is also unionized.) About 5.5 hours south of here sounds nice...the weather's better down there but about the same distance from my parents and a lot closer to his  

@photokitty - this particular person doesn't get "up in your business" as much as just stands in the room and makes awkward conversation with you to attempt to lighten the mood. I guess the lady that she replaced, however, would crouch over and want to "watch your stream" and everything. (Glad she retired!) 

@lolo883 - It's government (state) and everything else was suppppperrr thorough, even more than other state jobs because its with Corrections. So yeah, I guess they're used to treating people like criminals I'm just glad its done!

I almost did that when I switched doctors for my annual when I went to college.  They made me take a pregnancy test before giving me BC and I forgot and started to just go and then was like OH SHIT and threw the cup under there really quick.  I was super worried they wouldn't have enough but I guess we were good because they didn't make me do it again.

I never had to in front of people.  They took me into the bathroom, turned off the water in the sink (lol, I could have turned it back on!  I'm not stupid) and put bluing in the toilet.
