Wedding Video

How important is a wedding video? Every video I have seen is so boring to me because there is no interaction with guests. I dont know but I am just not very willing to spend $2000 on a video I might not even watch.. What do yall think?

Re: Wedding Video

  • Not important if it's not something you want. We didn't want one, didn't get one, and don't regret it.

It was very important to me. I wanted to the ceremony on video, so that I could hear our vows and have it forever. I wasn't as concerned about interaction with guests since the guests don't interact much during the ceremony - so I'm not sure what you mean.

It's a personal choice. If it's not important to you, don't spend the money on it - bc it's not the cheapest thing :) GL!

    This.  Wasn't important to us.
  • I recently went to a wedding and they did not have any one recording video and she asked anybody on Facebook if they had a recording of her sons doing a dance.
  • I love our wedding video, but this was something I was willing to cut from the budget if I couldn't find someone whose work I loved and could afford.

Thanks y'all!! Do you think a videographer would maybe just do the ceremony?

I know in my area there are a variety of videographers at a variety of price points and several packages to choose from.

I know I looked at several who would just do the ceremony, some would do the ceremony and the reception "events" like the entrance, first dance, parent dances and cake cutting and then the packages would get more elaborate as the price went up.

I started out with the vendors listed on The Knot, then did a google search and craiglist search to find vendors whose work I liked and price was in budget.

If you are getting married in the off season you may find that you can negotiate a discount...  I was able to get $1000 off of our package since we were getting married in the winter in the midwest.
