Re: What is the worst breach of etiquette you've ever seen?

  • Wedding of a childhood best friend.  I had just graduated college and moved back home.  While grocery shopping, I bumped into this girl and was catching up since I hadn't seen or spoke to her since we graduated high school. She told me she was getting married, so I congratulated her, and she told me I should come and that it was that weekend.  I felt weird saying no, so said I'd go.  The ceremony and reception were at her church, so it wasn't far from my parents house.

Ceremony was beautiful so we'll skip to the reception... dry wedding which would have been fine, except there was no music or form of entertainment.  Food was buffet style (made by the family) and they ran out before half of the guests even got a chance to get in line.  Since there was no entertainment or music, all 75 guests were forced to sit at their tables, in silence, and watch the newlyweds grope each other.  After an hour, I was so uncomfortable I left.
