Bridesmaid Dress Shopping

Hey everyone,

I've lurked but found nothing on this topic - dye lots.

Has anyone ever had a huge problem with the dye lot of their bridesmaid dresses? My MOH lives out of province and was just going to order her dress at her local store, but the store told us that if she did she'd have a different shade than everyone else because of the dye lot. Is that true? Like, how big of a difference is it actually?

Thing of the past unless you're getting something custom made. Most dyes are mixed by a computer; if there's a difference, you'd probably have to stare at the two dresses right next to each other for a long time to notice a minute difference. 

The salon might tell you they aren't because they don't want you to go elsewhere (they want all your business).

As far as I know, dye lots are not really a thing anymore.  My BMs are also far flung and I'm just going to tell them a designer, length, and color.  Any major designer's colors should be consistent across multiple stores.

I think the consultant is BSing you because she wants the sale.
