help with flower colors!

Ok everyone. I'm doing a rustic wedding. It's going to be outdoors and reception in a barn. Our colors are turquoise and brown. Girls will wear long turquoise dresses. And men in blue jeans with button up short and brown vests. My dress is a beige color with white lace over top to lighten the color a bit. I'm making my own flowers and I really don't know what colors to use. I feel like if I use brown and turquoise flowers it might look like to much. But I don't want to throw in crazy colors to throw it off...can anyone offer some input please before I go nuts lol

Re: help with flower colors!

  • What about going with yellow and orange for your flowers?  Both compliment turquoise and brown.

Also, I am not a fan of using flowers in non-natural colors and that is exactly what turquoise and brown are in the flower family.

  • I would do sunflowers as your main flower and build from there. Your florist will be able to help you with complimentary flowers. I think ivory/whites and purples would look nice with your current color combo.

  • What about white daisies or just a bouquet of babies breath. Both would go nicely with your rustic theme. Just stay away from white hydrangea (unless you go silk) because I've been told that whie hydrangea don't have a good lasting time.
  • I agree that having turquoise with the flowers, along with the turquoise of the bridesmaid dresses and everything, could get overwhelming. Maybe just have cream colored flowers that complement the turquoise and brown.
  • I would also go with sunflowers with some white/cream thrown in.

I think sunflowers, daisies, or baby's breath would be most appropriate.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14
