How was your weekend?

Anything exciting happen?

Friday H & I went to carnival we didn't stay too long, and they didn't have any italian ice. What Italian carnival doesn't have italian ice? It was still a fun way to start the weekend.

Saturday I baked from scratch brownies with marshmallow frosting. I got to use the kitchenaid Mixer for the first time and I am in love with it.  We went to our friend's house for a BBQ, it was a lot of fun.  It also didn't help my baby fever either, everyone there had a baby under a year, but I got to hold and play with so many cute little babies! That was fun.

Yesterday we just did a few things around the house, cleaning, yard work.  I began working on thank you cards, they came in on Friday.  My goal this week is to get out the thank you cards.  I'm also co-producing a show so I was at the theater last night.  We also played Scrabble and H as usual kicked my ass.  It was a fun weekend.

Re: How was your weekend?

  • @peaseblossom55 those brownies sound amazing, can you share the recipe?

Friday I didn't do much except watch "Married At First Sight".

Saturday I got up early drove to the vet to pick up Buddy's ashes and also bought a gift for a baby shower I was going to, then FI and I were going to go to the food truck festival in town to pick up lunch and dinner for later and it was CRAZY so we decided to go home. I headed up north for the baby shower and it was fun, they did a lot of corny games, like you couldn't say "baby" and there was a guess the baby food contest. I'll pass on that, thanks. Saturday night we hung out and watched movies, nothing exciting.

Sunday I did all the WR stuff that I could (I have a post about it). I still have a few more things to do, but I feel a huge weight off my shoulders now. We also took Quigley to the dog park and played with the kittens.

  • How was everybody's weekend??

Saturday - I picked up my dress!  It made me realize I need to get back on the weight loss band wagon, I've gained 10lbs since I bought it and would like the corset in the back to be closer together.  I got home, played with the dogs for a bit, then we had to head out to go downtown to pick out new seats for the Cleveland Gladiators.  We found much closer ones in a different section for the same price - so yay!  After that we had 2 hours before the game started and we didn't feel like leaving downtown and coming back and having to park again (we got a great spot in the garage).  FSIL ended up making her Disney reservations and I helped her get her 'My Disney Experience' account all set up and now she's getting super excited and is already a Disney addict!  We then went to a late lunch/early dinner - ran into my boss who was also going to the game, but we were leaving he was coming in.  We still had about 40 minutes, so we went to the casino, FSIL had some game credits, so we 'won' $30 (would have lost our winnings but we ran out of time).

Sunday - I slept... ALL DAY.  I got up in the AM, walked on my treadmill for like 40 minutes, made lunch and fell back asleep.  FI woke me up around 4pm and was like 'if you don't get up now, you're not going to be able to sleep tonight' so we walked and got ice cream and came home and watched some TV.

No cycling hours in and we have our 75-mile ride in 2 weeks!!

  • @Peaseblossom55 -Those brownies sounds NOMS!

@buddysmom80 -I watched Married at First sight too on Friday...what a stupid show lol.

Friday after @LaPeanut1018 and I went out and bought food for her shower the next day, I went back to my parent's house and pre-made a few things so I wouldn't be overwhelmed on Saturday. Then I went home and cuddled with maddux until H got home from the Braves game.

Saturday morning I went to CrossFit and after I got home I got ready and started preparing for the shower. I decorated, picked up the cupcakes and cake pops, flowers, and started preparing all the food.

The shower went really well IMO. It was a small intimate shower with @LaPeanut1018 and her FI's friends. We drank, ate, played pool, CAH, and opened gifts. They all stayed over until almost midnight. I really love the gift the bridal party gave @LaPeanut1018 and I'll let her AW some pictures of everything.

Sunday, H and I went back to my parent's house to clean up after the shower and then we went to his grandparent's house for dinner. They live in this really cute old southern victorian house. I love the old fashioned rooms and furniture. It was a really nice evening.
  • @peaseblossom55 those brownies sound so good!

Friday night FI and I had our date night.  We went out for Chinese food, then stopped by a home decor store to pick up this print. I saw it online and HAD TO HAVE IT. FI and I have an obsession with octopuses (such a weird word), hence my avatar. We named him Mark. Then we went to Meijer, bought a couple movies and watched one of them.

On Saturday I cleaned up the apartment, re-decorated our dining room, and then FI and I went to my hometown to meet my family for dinner to celebrate my momma's birthday. That evening we hung out at home and watched another movie.

Sunday was boring. We went to church, went out to lunch, then FI had to leave to play at an event called Celebrate Recovery. I stayed home and finished my cleaning/organizing, finished our Thank You cards for the shower, and watched tv with the furbabies.

  • Hellooooooo!

My weekend was uneventful, which was exactly what I needed.

Friday FI and I went out for dinner with his parents and brother, which was nice (and yay, free steak dinner and drinks!) and then we just hung out at my place...I think we watched a movie? I don't remember.

Saturday morning FI golfed and I slept in and made a yummy breakfast and cleaned up around my apartment a bit. Had a bit of a meltdown over my skin (so bad the last few weeks) but I think it was a combination of needing to wash my pillowcases and getting my period...at least I hope so, because I actually cried about feeling like I look like a 15 year old. Lame. FI and I went to the movies Saturday night, saw "Begin Again" which I loved and recommend :)

Yesterday was church and lazy afternoon and back to church. FI stayed with me last night and we had a really good talk and snuggle and it was exactly what we both needed at the end of the weekend.

And now it's Monday and super sticky and humid here. Blech!

@buddysmom80 - I was not wedding productive at all this weekend...I meant to do a bunch of research on vendors that we need to book and I did nothing. Arg.

@southernpeach89 - Glad to hear that the shower went well!

    @severmilli12 - LOVE the print!

  • @lmcooper86 my wedding planning was like that. When we first got engaged, I did all the research on the big vendors and booked them. Then for a while it was like "well, what do we do now" and then at the six month mark, I was like "shit, I have a lot to do!" So far (fingers crossed) I haven't been too stressed and I'm hoping it stays that way until the wedding!

  • I had THE BEST vacation.

Thursday night, we stayed at a B&B/possible venue. Had a walk through the next morning with their wedding coordinator. It was surprisingly more in our budget than we thought since we're looking at Sunday dates. We stopped by a winery on our way home.

Friday night we chilled and drank wine and went to bed early since Saturday we were in Boston! It was great reconnecting with my high school friend and her boyfriend is so sweet. They'll be engaged soon. (He supposedly has a ring. Shh!)

Sunday we went to the barn and I got a good ride in and just relaxed. I'm feeling very recharged today.

@imcooper86 , I am horrible at golfing, but i enjoy playing. Is that weird? haha.

Sunday was my birthday. I am officially 21! In Wisconsin...that is a big deal. So, I went out at 12:00 a.m. Saturday night/ Sunday morning with my friends. Sunday morning my BF made my friends and me breakfast. Sunday afternoon we went to the Milwaukee zoo (Note to future self: Do not walk past the stinky penguin tank while being hungover. VERY. BAD. IDEA.) Overall, it was an amazing weekend.

But now...I'm just sitting here exhausted like....

  • Our weekend was good, I think.

Friday night was not much of anything, we watched Rio with the girls which was a much needed relaxing night. I didn't even have to cook, everyone agreed on pizza for once!

Saturday, we dealt with two children who would not stop fighting, which became two children in one oversized shirt appropriately named the "get along shirt". Then BF had a show in a cute college town near us, it was a great night. Friends, good beer, good music.

Yesterday was my best friend's daughter's baptism. I cried a lot when we got home, but the day itself was wonderful. Her family is very much my own, her dad calls me "daughter to the second power" and, after being around for the last 13 years, her family is an awesome group to be around. The girls were supposed to be with us, but last minute plans unfortunately changed that.
  • Ugh it's Monday already?!

Friday night BF and I hung low and played with the puppy. We had both been out a couple nights last week and we wanted to spend QT with the pup. She loved it!

Saturday morning I was up early and off to the Middle School gym for my cheer clinic! We had ten girls come. but it was perfect because they each got one on one attention. We had five new sign ups that day! I'm so pleased with how it went. I had former cheerleaders help me run it and the whole day was a success. After the clinic I went home and cleaned up the house a bit. We were supposed to have friends over but the wife wasn't feeling good so we went out to Olive Garden instead. When we come home I got BF to watch Frozen with me. He actually liked it! I was so happy.

Yesterday we got up early and went out to tend to the garden. We have been so focused on other things in the house that we were really lacking on the garden. We weeded and cleaned it all up. Then we ran errands and got some stuff for inside and outside. BF was caught singing "Let it Go" in Homegoods and I think at that moment I fell more in love! Then we went home, played with the puppy some more and cooked up the food from the night before. We also watched the WWE pay per view, because we had compromised the night before!

  • My weekend wasn't too exciting.

Friday we made homemade pizza for dinner & hung out at home.

Saturday I went to my friend's baby shower. They had a couple games, but nothing like @buddysmom80 - we had scratch off tickets and baby bingo. They also had a candy bar, and I brought home ALL the Swedish Fish, and I'm not sorry about it.

Yesterday I slept in a little later, which was nice. I also watched the first two episodes of "Married at First Sight" - and then set the DVR to record the rest of the episodes. Sorry I'm not sorry. FI & I took Violet to the dog park, then came home & ordered food, because I was craving wings. I got into bed at like 9pm so I could read, and then remembered why I'm trying to read it in the daylight (because I'm a scaredy-pants).

  • Happy belated birthday @justbeingme93!

Friday night FI and I worked on the apartment, mostly getting stuff out.

Saturday we worked on the apartment and he went gaming in the evening. Which I proceeded to totally waste.

Yesterday was the hottest, most humid day of the year so far. So of course we went to the non-air-conditioned apartment and ... got just about all the stuff out!! There's a small carload of personal possessions we're keeping, about 1 dumpster's worth of stuff that's not worth donating (dumpsters are full right now, but they empty today or tomorrow), and a few things left to donate. And I got all the carpet vacuumed - honestly the place looks a lot better without the cat fur on it, so I'm thinking we might have a prayer here. 10 days to checkout!

I don't think we'll get to go over tonight to work on it, though. We're supposed to get some huge-ass thunderstorms, and I really suspect it's going to feel a lot like this:

    The Shining by Stephen King.

I got the Pampered Chef pizza stone for Christmas and I absolutely LOVE it. We make pizza almost once a week. There's one type of dough that I LOVEEEEE - it's from Maine, and they sell it at our Hannaford - it's made with Shipyard beer, and it's so delicious. I stocked up on it the last time they had it at Hannaford, so there's a few in our freezer, which makes it easy.

  • @GoldenPengiun The Shining is good! Scary too.

I mostly get our dough from Trader Joe's, it's not bad.  I'm considering trying to make my own dough at some point with the mixer.  We haven't done pizza in a few weeks so we are pretty well over due. The dough you buy sounds amazing.

  • @caseface5 -I would love to haha! H and I have talked about having me go back and coach once we have kids for a side job for myself. One of my best friends just got a coaching job for our old high school comp squad. I would prefer to do Allstar since their rules are little for relaxed about what you can and cannot do on the floor.
  • @GoldenPenguin , @Buddysmom80 & @Southernpeach89 - I too am watching Married at first sight.

  • This weekend was pretty quiet.

DH and I went out for Chinese on Friday night.  Saturday, we went to the farmer's market, stocked up on amazing-ness, went shopping for a few things we needed around the house, I had a phone date with one of my besties in Boston, and I got a mani pedi.

Yesterday, we went groceries and had an epic snuggle session.  And I went to the gym.

I realize this is vague-knotting at its finest, but we found out some news this weekend that has the potential to be life altering, if it works out.  More of that when I know more.
  • @peaseblossom55 - Mmm those brownies sound delicious!

@justbeingme93 - Ahh! 21?! Way to make me feel like an old lady. Happy Belated Birthday!

@megso16 - I've seen the "get along shirt" on Pinterest. Sadly there's like a 2.5' height difference between my girls, I don't think it would work as planned haha

Is it terrible that I can't even remember what we did Friday night? I'm pretty sure it was absolutely nothing. We had originally planned to go to the auction, but decided against it since I splurged with my prop money earlier in the week and I would have had to dip into something else's fund.

Saturday we met up with my dad and bought the supplies for and put together my super cool 3-in-1 backdrop stand. It's made out of PVC pipes and ended up working really well. Q's BFF and old roommate came over Saturday afternoon/evening to hang out. They played a few games while I edited. We had dinner, watched a movie and then he went home, taking his XBox with him. Poor BF is now going through withdrawals since he's had his friends XBox for the past few months.

Sunday we had church in the morning, and during the week they upgraded some of the equipment which was pretty cool. Plus we're meeting with the Pastor in the next few weeks to work on their overall video presentation and coming up with a "look" for it. We're really excited about that.

After church we put together the backdrop stand, set up the backdrop and lighting kit and tested out the backdrop to see how it was working. I'm pretty happy with it, and think it will look awesome for the cake smash I'm doing on Wednesday!

    It's Mondaaaaaaay.

    @justbeingme93 Happy belated birthday!

@dignity100 I'll join that bandwagon with you--I have one more month till I have to bring my dress in to start fittings, and I need to get my torso a bit smaller for me to feel confident that the damn thing will fit.

@Blackbird230 What did y'all do in Boston while you were visiting your friend?

My weekend was all right. Friday, I had my infusion, got some work done, and then went to the gym. I'm SUPER happy because I finally got the green light to start the interesting parts of my project. I have 3-4 new experiments I can start this week and next week.

I slept most of Saturday, since I was so tired from my infusion, and Sunday evening, J and I did some wedding stuff we'd put off. We finalized the guest list for real, we updated the menu page of the website, and we designed and ordered our RSVP cards.

We also watched a LOT of TV because we wanted to finish up Castle and Orange is the New Black. We finished OITNB really late and probably woke people up because we were laughing SO hard.

@justbeingme93 Pretty sure turning 21 is generally a big deal everywhere you go in the US...;) Just sayin'...that legally being able to drink thing and all...:P Sounds like you had a good birthday! Happy belated birthday!

@buddysmom80 We are at just under 3 months now and I'm like...shit...what am I supposed to be doing??? I have all these things hanging over my head and I'm not sure how often I'm supposed to be communicating with vendors...or what specifically is needed at this point. So I'm just addressing invitations and hopefully things start to fall in place.

This weekend was super busy and went by really fast for me. Friday I was still sick but I went with @southernpeach89 and picked out food for the shower. Then I went home and tried to get my sinuses to drain.

Saturday I had an appointment to get my hair cut, then I went home and picked up FI and the dog and went to my parents house to help @southernpeach89 get the remaining shower stuff ready to go and then it was time for the shower! All of my photos are on FI's camera and I haven't had an opportunity to upload them so I promise to AW tomorrow. The shower was incredible! My sister turned it into a perfect Pinterest dream - down to water bottles personalized with a chevron label, our wedding date and our names. She went above and beyond on everything and the whole shower was perfect! I just wish I hadn't been sick so I could've enjoyed it a little more (like with actually being able to drink at my own party that was all about drinking). We got lots and lots of wine and gin (FI's favorite drink) and beer and some other small gifts. My sister and the bridal party all got together and bought FI and I this GORGEOUS custom wooden box. It was engraved with our names, our last name, and our wedding date, and had three slats in the top to store three bottles of wine in. Each slat was labeled with either 1st, 3rd, or 5th anniversary. We're supposed to open each bottle on the respective date. I can't wait to show off pictures of it because I love it so much!!!

Sunday I had a second hair appointment to get my highlights touched up because I didn't have time on Saturday. I spent nearly 3 hours at the salon because my stylist was double booked and it took forever to get my hair dried and styled out by someone. I finally was just ready to walk out because I'd been waiting for over 30 minutes with wet hair and a dying cell phone and they got someone to blow dry my hair. I'm really happy with my highlights but I'm annoyed with my salon because of the double booking. I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and I hope it was just because a bunch of people called out or something. After my appointment I joined FI at his coworker's house so we could finally start working on our gift to our parents. We're making each set of parents a cutting board out of slices of really fancy, exotic wood. Then I'm going to order some custom stainless steel or aluminum plates with a short message from the two of us an attach it to the back of the board. FI's dad is a carpenter so I know he'll appreciate a gift that we made rather than purchased

I'm still sort of sick today but I think I've gotten through the worst of whatever I've had. I still don't have an appetite but I guess that's ok since I noticed my pants fit better yesterday and today. Hopefully I can keep it off once my appetite returns.
